1. Max is a wonderful artist. 2. my dad grew up with an out house in west Texas raising horses. 3. Arguably, Duolingo is the easiest way to start - throw in some subtitled movies, and you might not even need children's books. Texas and Florida are the closest mentality to Russian people in the US (Everything is bigger in Texas (along with traditional values) - just like Russia “Florida man” memes = crazy Russians memes) We are not that different after all 🤷‍♂️😂 P.s. I’m Russian (live in Russia) been to US many times, my family has a beach house in Florida (not like the one in the video though.. more like “mtv cribs”) 🤷‍♂️… never been to Texas though (i know about Texas from King of the Hill) 😁

In Indonesia we use well water for cooking and drinking, that is boiled well water. Salted fish is traditional dish and eaten with rice raw and cooked vegetables chili sauce. BBQ is also traditional dish from chicken lamb meat on bamboo sticks and peanut sauce. So you have a nice rented house in the wild ! Logs we have used in old times for temporary bridging. The forest is out of big logs, furniture and statues are still traditional craftsmanship for business and tourists. Have a good time.Thanks for sharing. Safe home coming !

@@aizhongwen В России рыбу едят жареную, отварную и сырую просто соленую в маринаде. Это сельдь, скумбрия, килька. Я солю их сама, делаю маринад со специями: лавровый лист, зонтики гвоздики, коринандр, черный перец, душистый перец и соль, можно сухой посол, а можно в тузлуке, а потом, на следующие сутки мы едим эту рыбу с горячей картошкой, жареным или свежим зелёным луком и укропом... Очень вкусно, для нас. Так же есть такое блюдо из сырой рыбы, делается из Пеламиды, называется , от русского слова "strogat', (строгать), замороженная сырая рыба достаётся из холодильника и нарезается на слайсы по 2-2,5 см, сворачивается в рулетики и выкладывается на тарелку, сверху посыпается солью, свежемолотым чёрным и белым перцем, сверху на слайсы красиво кладется тонко нарезанный красный лук, желательно предварительно слегка замаринованный, поливается всё это лимонным соком и нерафинированным полсолнечным маслом, украшают укропом и петрушкой, (русские любят эту зелень), и подают с гренками из черного ржаного хлеба с тмином. Тоже очень вкусно.

Thank you so much for sharing a wonderful video from Karelia! Of course, I love to travel to Russia and to visit this country. Already been there on vacation 7 times, from 2015 - 2019. Then it was the covid-19, and after that, some other issues from february 2022, the situation with lack of flights to Russia. Now I have a problem to get a valid travel-insurance, due to how our country not recommend travels to Russia. I do miss Russia, and my great friends there a lot. But I'm happy to have an Skype appointment, already tonight with a very good friend, living in Moscow. About Shaslik, I've tasted it several times in Russia, and also a friend of mine from Lithuania, now living in Norway, prepares fantastic Shaslik... He use to marinade the pig-meat (from shoulder) in the fridge over the night. I've even made it myself this Summer and it tasted really fantastic (vkosna) 🙂 Thank you again so much for sharing your video, it's always interesting to follow you and your family and to see how you live in Russia. We do, but mostly books in phones, not on paper unfortunately. The paper book industry is slowly decreasing.. and they cost fortune nowadays, so its easier and cheaper to buy an e-book

You had a truly FAMILY vacation. You did a lot of things but best of all, the rainy days where you were 'forced' to play board games and other things. In South Africa we call a barbeque a 'braai'. That is an Afrikaans name and even English speaking people call it a 'braai'. We mostly use charcoal. porridge with gravy. (That is basically our staple food) The Cape part eat sweet potatoes with their braai. They also braai fish at times. We have tiny fish covered with salt and hanged outside till it's completely dry.

А у нас в России сухую рыбу называют vyalenaya ryba, и разделывают её как обычно, с головы, разрезают на кусочки, снимают кожу с чешуёй и отрывая по кусочку, обгладывая даже косточки до нуля, запивают свежим пивом... Ох, вкуснятина!!! Обажаю вяленую рыбу с пивом, но я не пью спиртное, поэтому покупаю пиво, где 0%. А мой папа когда-то пил настоящее пиво с настоящей жирной сметаной. Я не понимала такого его вкуса, и мне кажется, что это несовместимые вещи, но знаю, что многие мужчины в России тоже так пьют пиво. У меня и сейчас лежит одна вяленая рыбка дома, чехонь называется, (иногда плотву большую покупаю), и она дожидается своего часа... 🐟 😃👌

Oh, I forgot the best of a braai! After we've eaten our food we love to put Marshmallow sweets on a steel stick and keep turning it over the coals. It's very, very hot. Wait a couple of seconds and you eat it off the stick!! Yummy.

Thank you for being kind about the outhouse. Many people would get grossed out or condescending, but I think they are as organic and ecological as it gets. You are very observant. The person who goes against the grain is often unliked but people do not realize they are crucial to making the show interesting just like Rabbit in Winnie the Pooh or Squidwert or Wolverine.

My grandmother had an "outhouse" (2:16, what the Welsh call "ty bach" - small house) in the 1960s, as did my sister's future husband's family.

My house, which my grandfather bought brand new in 1948 didn't have indoor plumbing so it had an outhouse - or dunny (Aussie slang) and even that wasn't connected to sewerage A 'Dunny Man" would come along once a week to swap out the 'pan' of soiled material He had a horse-drawn cart Eventually plumbing was connected to houses in the street

I totally disagree! A real shashlyk is made of LAMB! For marinade you need only onions, salt and pepper ... NO VINEGAR!!!🤦🏼‍♂️ And everything should be laid out in layers - a layer of onions on the bottom, then a layer of meat, then a layer of onions, etc. The final layer should be of onions... No mixing! And don't forget to put something heavy on top for maximum juicing from the onions...👍🏻

Шашлык делают БЕЗ ЖИДКОСТИ ДЛЯ РОЗЖИГА! (на дно мангала насыпьте ровным слоем угли, сверху положите бумагу и картон, затем щепки и мелкие палочки, потом дрова. теперь подожгите спичкой или зажигалкой бумагу и подождите когда дрова прогорят, потом добавьте еще углей перемешайте и помахайте чтобы угли равномерно прокалились... а можно холодные угли не добавлять если на ваш взгляд углей уже достаточно. Можно жарить.)!

I drank water out the tap in Kursk at 2 in the morning. Wasn’t the brightest thing to do but I was thirsty and we had no juice in the fridge. I’m still alive but wouldn’t try It again. 😅

Спасибо за все комментарии, я вырос и воспитывал своих детей в маленьком городке во Флорде с 2 университетами. Так что это было хорошее сочетание интеллектуального и трудового опыта. Когда я был молодым бездетным мужчиной, я поступил в университет в Нью-Йорке изучать кинематограф, а затем жил в Голливуде, Калифорния, и снимал фильмы. Это большая территория из многих округов, простирающаяся по центру Калифорнии. Если вы выбрали население только одного округа, это покажется небольшим.

@@expatamerican3234 Сухую вяленую рыбу едят так: отрезают голову, и вынимают высохшие внутренности, выбрасывают, кроме икры, икру едят. А далее нужно снять кожу с чешуёй и порезать рыбу на кусочки. Обычно русские смакуют медленно каждый кусочек запивая пивом, обгладывая каждую косточку рыбки. В этом отдельный кайф... 👍😉😀
