Would we move back to the UK?

Since we moved to the USA from the UK and one question we always get asked is " Would you move back"
In this vlog we go back to our hometown of Barnoldswick to spend time with family and friends and to enjoy some traditional UK food.
During our trip we take some time to reflect and answer that question, "would we move back to the UK?"

I am sorry that your son decided to go back to the U.K. But, children have to make decisions and live their lives also. Glad that you can go and see him at least once a year. Maybe in your retirement you may go back and stay for a month or so in the summer. I agree, now with skipe you can ring him up whenever you choose and see him face to face.Glad that you get to visit with Cloe more often. I know we all lead busy lives. I live 10 minutes from my son and only get to see him a couple of times a week.I understand the rainy chill of England having visited there. It is a beautiful country and I enjoyed visiting and the friendliness of it's people.

I’m American and was stationed in London for 2 years in 70’s and I would love to go there to live. I love the weather there and never tired of being there. They are building a Universal park there a little north of London and East of Oxford. They already are clearing the land and there is train service and 2 highways go right by it. I hope my son can transfer there for a while.

Lived in Burnley til I was 12, then moved to Knaresborough til we came here. Not that I recognise much anymore except that staircase in the b & b,we had one that steep I`m sure! First, I'm so glad that you got to be there for your Dad and that you were able to take him back home from the hospital and saw his health improving. It was so nice to see where you and Mrs. Bazza grew up and your early adult years in the U.K. together. Family time is the best time. I would add another reason to remain in America, and I agree w/all your reasons , is that your daughter is here and in D.C. Perhaps your son will eventually move here as well. Love the vlogs. Thank you. I visited the U.K. in 1970 w/ my aunt on a 4 country European vacation.

Loved doing this walk with you and seeing all your childhood places/memories. Brought back 3 duvet cover sets from my recent trip so with Maxine on that one 🤣. Tip - see if you have an Indian food market in your area in Florida. They stock a lot of British stuff (including tea bags) because many of their customers have moved in from Canada and the UK. When MIL died in 2012 I wanted us to keep her small home in Inverness with the plan that when we retired we would spend May to September in Scotland and then back to California for the rest of the year. Husband didn’t want that ☹️. Oh well.

Thanks for this! Hope Dad is doing better! We moved from Wigan 17 months ago to central Florida. (I’m an ICU nurse here) it has been quite an adjustment for us all and our 7 and 12yr old and sometimes we reminisce about England of what we miss but I agree with ALL your reasons for NOT going back to UK. The weather is no.1. Standard of living and SPACE and OPPORTUNITY here cannot be beaten. Even if you are a millionaire in UK you still have to scrape the ice off your car, take the bins out, queue on the roads, pay for parking, get ticketed by cameras everywhere and even queue at the airports and get your flights cancelled. When I worked in Liverpool Heart hospital all the staff talk about CONSTANTLY is where they are going on vacation! What does that tell you about the quality of life there? I am grateful to live here. Have to say you both grew up in a lovely town 😊 I hear the faint tones of Coronation Street da da da dada daaaa… It’s the healthcare in the States that would be our biggest stumbling block, as I need regular medication 🥺.

My son did the dna test and it came back 98% British, more British than a lot of the people living there.

I lived in the States for 10 years, I gave my green card back and came home. Apart from a few holidays in Hawaii, I haven't stepped one foot in the 48 for 20 years.

Its funny when you're watching people on tv and you think they're a cool older couple and since neither of you had said your ages before and Nick keeps saying how old y'all are lol i was shocked to realize you're only 9 yrs older than me and 8 yrs older than Nick hahaha Its surprising because you never think of yourself as getting older you're always like 25 in your head or 18 sometimes. that's cool though id love to be as mobile as either of you are i'm 49 and have to use a walker and can't really go anywhere by myself anymore as i have to have a transport chair which requires someone else to push it. so i'd say you are young as you feel and i feel about 110 ! hahahaha

You are as young as you feel in your mind. it's just getting old that sucks with all the aches and pains. Still it's better than the alternative
