DisneySea Tokyo - Not the park for us
Join us as we make our first visit to DisneySea in Tokyo Japan.
We will share how we booked the tickets, navigated this huge park, and enjoyed the food and drinks; did I say enjoyed 😀 .
We rode some of the rides unique to this park, Indiana Jones, 20,000 leagues under the sea and Journey to the center of the Earth.
The park is huge and wonderfully themed, but it did underwhelm us somewhat, we will explain why.

Hi, DisneySea is a pretty unique park. I'm glad you enjoyed some of the rides ! I know all about Duffy & his friends ( Shellie May, Gelatoni, Stella Lou, Olu, Cookie Ann, Linabell......, big fan here!!!! He has his own little area & show in Cape Cod ) The Italian area with the gondolas looks quite cool. Aww poor Max.. 'what the heck is that?' ( was that drink worse than Beverley? ) Enjoyed watching, thanks. x

We enjoyed all the rides at this park. Sadly, we were not able to get on Toy Story Mania as the wait times were incredibly long. We went before covid when they still had fastpasses and the line for that for Toy Story was nearly 2 hours (standby was almost 4 hours) 😮 Loved exploring the Leonardo Davinci area and the Fortress and Galleon. DisneySea was my favourite of the 2 parks possibly because there are no other parks like it. Thanks for sharing your experiences and rekindling fond memories 😊

DisneySea looked a mish mash of all kinds of Disney parks, I remember 10,000 leagues under the sea from 1991 in the MK, after that it disappeared....looked to be a park to stroll around and take your time as loads of things to see. I would also struggle with the food, the ice cream looked good. Will be nice to see your next vlog....

Duffy was a gift from Minnie to Mickey when he was off at sea. He started at WDW but was picked up by Tokyo Disney and is most popular at the Asian Disneys, but they also have him and his friends in Paris. I was there in 2017 and couldn't leave without buying one! Disney Sea is regarded by many as the best Disney park in the world. PS We had lunch on the SS Columbia and it was delicious! It was very classy (I was with my 70 year old mum and she loved it!)

We’re just back from Disneyland California & Disney California Adventure & I have to say that their Guardians of the Galaxy version of Tower of Terror is my absolute favourite! They’ve made it so much fun! The music is also brilliant - we rode it more than once as we enjoyed it so much 😍 I have to add that I actually preferred the California parks & found Disneyland especially to be more authentically Disney. It’s also much easier to get around as the 2 parks are right next to each other & we could walk from our offsite hotel 💕

It is, however, hard to believe you went to Tokyo DisneySea without seeing “Believe! Sea of Dreams” which is the most extravagant and technologically advanced spectacular in the world! I did enjoy the rest of the tour in what is surely Disney’s most beautiful and elaborately themed park in the world.

@@ThemeParkBazza lol… it was. It was the story of the Genii’s exploits BEFORE he met Aladdin. At one point, the Genii was beholden to an old beggar who happened to rub the lamp. His big wish was to be able to do magic like the Genii which wasn’t allowed… so the Genii turned him into a Magician and the Genii secretly made his magic work from backstage. He became very famous as “Shaban” and his ego eventually got the better if him. He thought he wa so great that he didn’t need the Genii anymore so he locked him in a box backstage behind a curtain. The performance you saw was the first time he attempted a performance without the Genii’s help and would proceed to fail miserably. His little assistant knew of all of this and made it his goal to get the key to the box from Shaban and free the Genii. He finally grabs the key while being cut in half and frees the Genii from the box. They plot out a way to mess with Shaban and trick him into using up his final wish. Shaban, in exasperation finally exclaims, “I wish we had never met!”. Shaban vanishes from the stage and returns to his former life as an old beggar and the assistant that freed the Genii is whisked away to his new life of excitement and fun riding on the magic carpet eventually flying under all of the seats of the theater on their way out!

Duffy had a meet and greet at Epcot near the boat launch on the future world side for many years. I think it just stopped about 5 years ago. One of those shops near the boat docks was also mostly Duffy merch and they had some of those around the world map games that were Duffy themed. All of the Kidcot stops at the countries gave Duffy on a stick to color as well and collect the stamps from the countries. The original Little Golden Book story book with Duffy just called him Disney Bear. It just had him touring around Magic Kingdom after hours with Mickey when he came to life. USA Disney fans tend to make fun of Duffy. He was never really a popular character. So, they removed his meet n greet and the shop. Most of the other friends of Duffy never made it to the USA Parks.

@ThemeParkBazza yeah, I agree, everyone is different. I personally do not enjoy busy places. Not in a psychological not liking people way, just that its noisy, and people tend to be in their own bubble, so you have to avoid walking into them, constantly dodging people. And then just waiting in ques, looking for places to sit and eat. Just in general, I prefer finding something to do away from the masses. I never go into the city for example. But some people love nothing other than that, so, each to their own.
