Wort Cooling & Transfer to FV

Brewing yeast can only live and metabolize at cool temperatures. Wort needs to be cooled to the temperature for fermentation 15 - 20°C (ales) or 7 - 12°C (lagers). This is done in a wort chiller which is a counter-current plate heat exchanger consisting of a number of thin Stainless-Steel plates arranged one behind another.
