Worst things about Airsoft.

Спорт

First of all, we all enjoy Airsoft a lot. It's our hobby and passion! But like in every other sport, there are a few things about it that bother us and we gathered once again on our Couch of Wisdom to discuss these issues. What bothers you guys the most? Let us know in the comments!

    I think most players don't that much to prepare though. People stuff all their gear in 1 bag. After playing they leave it in there until the next play day. Wash clothes in between (which everybody does anyway, I hope). We have to prepare all our damn cameras. Make sure they are all sighted in still (bumping around wacks them out of alignment sometimes). Clear SD cards. Charge powerbanks and then make sure everything works. Granted a lot of people also tech on their guns and even without teching they break down on the field. It's not the easiest sport to do but it's worth it because it's the coolest sport.

    I don't even remember how it would be without cameras anymore. You're switching guns quite often, how much time do you spend on them? I suppose most of them don't work properly when you get them?

  • @SiloEntertainment

    @SiloEntertainment

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@airsoft-explained-novritsch Most of them need some cleaning and sighting in. Making all the mounts seperately for every gun is quite an undertaking. Takes atleast a full day or 2 to get everything working properly and prepare. Then a day of playing and praying everything worked and then I just wash my clothes and leave the rest in the bag. I haven't played without cameras for atleast 4 years.

    Yo Nov , ... Long time player here, I started airsoft in 2000. Been in sniping role/sharpshooter role for around 10+ years. I had never been a fan on "airsoft celebrities" , or products endorsed by them before. Mostly because, for the longest run of them, one month said "youtube personality" would say, oh yes buy this gun, it's what I use, the KWA M4 Tacticool 2 . The next month, Oh I just got the straight pull SRS boo-galoo special edition, it's the best of the best, once you spend another 1000 dollars upgrading it. Some we've had in the USA here, you see the content they make, you think hey these guys are cool, then you meet them or play with or against them in real life , same place, and find out what you see isn't how they really are. Before the ssg10 , I can't stress how many years I asked why don't companies just make an out of the box bolt rifle that's any good, already upgraded ? You did though. I'm impressed, and I'm not all that easy to impress because I've been around a long time, seen to much to not be jaded to a lot of things in our hobby. I don't have the ssg10 yet. But gonna pick one up soon. As far as community goes, yeah there's loads of haters out there. But we should all be focusing more on supporting each other , because without people to play, it'd be rather boring hobby/sport right? Keep up the good work, please.

    What bothers me with airsoft is how other airsoft players Bash other airsoft players by what brand they like. Its bad enough we gotta fight the world with this now we fight each other like how you guys said it at the end of this video. It's when people take airsoft to seriously and not have fun with it anymore and get tunnel vision. Airsoft can be anything and anything can be airsoft. Swamp sniper is proof of this. With his zombie and cowboy videos. And every brand of airsoft is good. Nothing is a bad brand. If you bash certain brand you are basically bashing them all and basically bashing airsoft as a whole in my opinion. We as airsofters need to be more unified and not hate on each other. That pisses me off. Sorry for the rant. But it's TRUE. Its bullshit. And f$#@ing unnecessary. I've done airsoft since the days of spring pistols were big and the introduction of aeg guns. I've seen it all in my 12 years or so of airsofting. Sorry again for the rant that frickin triggers me real bad. We need to be more accepting and more open to new ideas and ways of airsoft. Milsim speedsoft rifleman sniper. Whatever it is we need to be more helpful with one another and strengthen the "spirit of airsoft " if you will. ..... yeah I better stop with this rant lol

    @@the-wisconsin-farmer giving close friends crap is one thing. Completely throwing hate on someone is uncalled for. Airsoft is escapism, therapeutic from reality. Away to chill with buds you haven't seen in weeks months or years. It what connects us people. Especially with people we don't normally connect with outside of airsoft. The community is stronger then any community from let's say football to target shooting. I've never seen a community so strong and enjoying a hobby such as this in my entire life. Airsoft is the only and ultimately the best hobby to get into. You can do be or create anything you want airsoft to be. It's even potentially life changing in many ways. So to see more people being unified and having fun and helping others along the way makes me more dam passionate about this hobby then ever before. One of the many life decisions I'm glad I made was to get into airsoft.

  • @TheBranchez

    @TheBranchez

    Exactly, that is a big part of the airsoft popularity not being far greater than it is. In my country you need a special permit from the ministry if you want to import an airsoft gun. Sure there are shops that do that but the choice is so miserable compared to the US that I get depressed. Airsoft will achieve a new level when countries around the world actually start looking at it as a sport.

    I am also bothered by the lack of scientific information there is available for airsoft. I think it would absolutely awesome if you guys (especially your engineers) would make some well prepared videos about how airsoft guns work, what's essential for upgrading, why a part behaves better or worse. I'm thinking about cylinder-barrel-ratio for example. You most certainly have the capacities to compare different ratios in terms of accuracy, power etc.. This is something I'm very interested in and would like to know, but cannot buy all the equipment to test it. Like a series of mythbusting and giving proper explanations.

    04:52 I belive that cheaters are found in a balance between "how much pain I can withstand" and "how much I want to keep playing". Shots fired from a sniper 30m away are spicy. You don't get cheaters getting shot at 30-50m with a sniper because it hurts too much. In my field here in Spain we have a 2-shot rule, where only torso and headshots count for a kill (two shots for the torso, one for the head, legs and arms don't count). We barely have cheaters, and that's because the enemy keeps firing merciless in order to get at least two shots at the enemy... people rather shout "hit" than withstand 3-6 leg shots... It is a rule I made up and so far it's proven to be effective, and we've been playing for 10 years now.

  • @rick1476
    @rick14764 жыл бұрын

    @11:28 THIS! THANK YOU. As a very logic based person, doing research on guns for what I want to buy or to suggest to someone, this is infuriating. My friend's AEG ate itself and he asked me for a suggestion on what would be good replacement since I usually do a lot of research on whatever I want to buy. I spent DAYS digging through looking for more and more information about different AEGs at different price ranges for him. At the end of the day I came up with; "wellllll.. these big name players (youtubers) use these... soo I'm assuming that they have to be good right out of the box." Maybe if I had the funding I would do something like that myself, but like mentioned during this part of the video, there just really isn't the funding/interest to make that a worthwhile venture. As well, I'm also new to Airsoft, in fact it was Watching Novritsch and Silo's videos that first got me interested alongside stories from my friend who used to play when he was a kid. So it's not like I really have the resources or the history with airsoft to have the comprehensive knowledge needed. I know someone else mentioned in the comments here about wanting to see a series from some techs about how/why things work. I would love to see this. I would love to be able to really jump into teching on my gun, but since its currently the only one I own, outside of a EliteForce 1911 tac (who doesn't own one at this point?) I don't want to ruin the only access I have to sport. Eventually the Coronavirus will be settled down enough that we'll be allowed to play again, and I don't want to be without my AEG when that comes. My problem with some of the videos about Shimming and upgrades that are currently on youtube, is either they're not voiced or they're kinda low quality and don't really explain WHAT they're doing or WHY they're doing it. Just that they are. Sure, common sense tells me that properly shimming my gears means that I'll have less wear and tear on my gears plus a more responsive and effecient gearbox.. But what else does that do for me? Or show me the before and after of a good tech session on a gun and show the difference in performance. These just don't seem to exist for Airsoft and its easily been one of the most frustrating things for me getting into the sport.

    There was a time where I had no less than *SEVEN FUCKIN' GUNS* with me when I went to play airsoft coz I couldn't quite decide or simply wasn't sure which ones to use for the day. I had a wooden crate on 2 wheels with a removable drawbar to tow it behind me. In it were 2 KWA Glock19s, a KWC Desert Eagle, a Galaxy MP5K, a GHK G5, a KJW M700P and an A&K M60. Some of the stuff needed to run those guns was scattered inbetween them and strapped to the lid of that crate was a bag with all my gear. I'm guessing that the weight of the crate with all the stuff in and on it easily exceeded the 40 kilo mark. The guns by themselves already weighed more than 14 kilos in total, then another 5 or so for the stuff needed to run them, my gear was somewhere around 10 and then the craste itself, made from pine wood planks with a thickness of 18 mm and all the hardware on it, probably weighing another 15 kilos. How I managed to not forget anything of all the crap I had to transport to and from the airsoft field is anyone's guess, now that I have trouble overseeing the stuff I need to take with me with just 2 guns I use of the field.

    One thing that somewhat bothers me is that i kinda wish that stuff was more streamlined. What i mean by that is, Lets say i bought a Cyma plat, and did not like the aluminum upper/lower receivers, or handguard, i wish i could just easily buy one online, and just use it. Dunno if im that weird, but i just like when airsoft gun actually feels right not like a super light toy gun. Basicly that you could more easily modify the outside of the gun to your hearts content. Right now as far as im aware there are small differences where not every AR15 is the same and fitting different outter parts for it from other brands may prove difficult.

    If there's one thing I absolutely despise it's the milsim vs speedsoft the debate. I also hate how what speeds doctors are often called cheaters because the they have polar stars or or high cabins with hair triggers in all this other stuff to circumvent the no full auto rules in CQB arenas. That's how it's being safe is speed talk to the police style or you run around with the the last step you can have and traded to the objective as fast as possible and shooting everyone along the way.

It rattles like an half full Hi-Cap mag and if you didn't use Red Gas or stronger, it wouldn't feed after the thirt shot ect. Than everyone said WE is Shit, now i hav an G18c and an AK PMC from this Brand and im impressed from the build quality and it worked out to be fairly reliable...

    Bruh, I carry a massive shit ton of stuff at all times to any Milsim. I frequently have to loan out guns and safety gear to people all the damn time. BUT for day games? I have guns for outdoor fields, and indoor. I only have 2 types of guns ready to play at the moment. Shit that takes a stanag, and AK's. And like, if I really want to lazy soft I'll just bring like..m a single high Cap. And just have fun going lightweight. My rig has stayed the same for 4 years. Only thing I do ocasionally is swap out the mag pouches for diffrent colors and camo's like. Once a year. This year is UCP and it's a ranger green carrier meme. But I still have the cheap little condor in atacs FG from my first vest buy ever in 2015. Little tiny chest rig is for the more accurate guns that I don't need to carry as many mags with. Combine it with a duty belt that Carry's the dump pouch, first aid kit, and if necessary Radio. And BOOM it works well enough for me playing medic or anything that's halfway accurate at 200ft

    For me the worst about airsoft is the quality the stock guns are shipped in. Even if you pay a lot of money for "top tier" guns you still often need to put a lot of work into it until things are properly sealed. And i dont even want to mention the quality control or fitment! Aftermarketparts sepcially designed for that gun and still you need file some stuff off...just makes me mad how they abuse the small market like that

    The Money aspect is a thing with EVERY Hobby.... Airsoft is not just sport, it is also a Hobby. You take apart the guns out of fun. You tune the guns out of fun. You Train to use those guns tacticaly. And once you are enthusiastic about something you will get into it bigtime The same thing with shoes, Motorbikes, bicycle, Cars and more Thats just how humans work and how companys get their profit

    Elitist airsofters really annoy me. Now, I'm not talking about guys who have the best gear or only play milsim for the challenge. No, I'm talking about the group of guys who show up to play and demand to play together no matter what. The show up as if it's for milsim, but it's a regular open day where anyone can join. They play way too aggressively, and bitch and piss and moan that they aren't landing every shot perfectly- and not like, "Oh, my aim sucks today," but more like, "God! no one is calling their shots!" or, "My gun doesn't like this weather." They're a plight on small events. I've played with high level players who are fantastic. They are god-sends.

    You guys think there are no cheaters because you dont use a leafsuit + a silent pistol. Use both and you will encounter cheaters alot. I quote them: „ i didnt see or hear you!“ and thats their excuse. That i could have shot them from 60m with a spring sniper isnt even in their head! And i see it and have to shoot them up to 5 times sitting in a bush right next to them. Try it. Use a ghille and a mk23 oder ssx23 and you will notice how many people think its ok to just not call their first hit...
