WORLDS HIGHEST Mileage AUDI RS6?? Getting Ready For MOT!!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In today's video it takes a bit of a twist, I was going to be diagnosing the oil consumption fault, but there might not be one...

It would be a good idea to blast off the DRC fluid covered suspension etc… the wet area will draw possible wrong conclusions from the MOT tester… no need to give them reason to look deeper or fail by ‘mistake’.

I really don't think that the turbos are blown. I'm sure you worked at Audi when they came out with the 2.0t 16v FSI that had the oil consumption issues .(B7) .weigh the oil and drive drop the oil and reweigh oil after 3 weeks to determine consumption . Remember that engine had alot of oil in the wrong places due to faulty PVC it can blow through to the cats and hot side of turbo manifold and such ,it may have pooled in these places . You need long road tests to burn out the oil residue. Also for turbos honking is an early warning and coolant consumption too is another sign .I'm just saying 😎

Fingers crossed you don't need to take the engine out. The exhaust looks factory so there's a good chance it hasn't been re-mapped, as I think most people do the exhaust as well. Worth looking into if you keep it. They are ludicrously quick with a secondary cat delete (still road legal) and remap.

A while ago, when you removed some of the breather pipes they were full of oil. Perhaps there is some residual oil stuck somewhere which burns off when hot? Like a pool in the exhaust silencer maybe? I also tried to get into a sealed high level brake light, and the plastic was brittle and just broke into pieces. Shame as you can repair them if you can get into them.

  • @stephenemmerson8318

I have one and they use half a litre every 500 miles or so. I must say mine is much better than that but always keep an eye on it. On start up they are all the same until they warm up on start up, I doubt you have a problem as they are known for reliability apart from DRC issues, auxiliary oil seal/cooling pipes which was a common problem and used to be an engine out job. Good luck with it, they are an amazing machine if kept on top of.

Add some eurol lubricants to motor oil it will live longer ...on q7 3.0 tdi 2020, temperature of motor oil droped for 15 centigrade after adding additive for reducing friction, also very good for turbo since turbo is feeding with motor oil they will spool faster...

Hello, it's a real pleasure to discover your channel and see you working on this car because I have the exact same rs6 c6 Avant, black exterior and same color of interior seats and exterior aluminum pack. It has 113,000 km or 70,000 miles, and for cold engine starts it's exactly the same thing, it smokes like a steam locomotive 😱😀 it lasts 30 seconds and after the engine speed drops and it no longer smokes. This is normal, the secondary air pump system sends air to tell the computer to put a lot more fuel in to heat the catalysts when they are cold on start-up because the catalysts are only effective when they are hot. This system is made on purpose for that. I replaced the spark plugs and the coils a short time ago and it was really not easy, the cylinder 10 coil is very difficult to remove because of the ABS block which is just in front. I would like to see a video if you take the spark plugs or the coils apart to see if you have a better way of doing it than me and it could help me for the next time 🙂 I will do the engine oil change soon, it will be the first time I do it on a dry sump, there are 5 drain screws and I have the Audi procedure but to reassure myself beforehand I would like to see on video if you drain your engine. I think I might put some Engine Flush before doing the oil change, it might be good for the engine. Sorry for my English, I don't know if you will have understood everything 🤔😀 but I help myself with Google translation. Hello from France, thank you very much for your videos and I wish you and everyone a very happy new year !😊

I'm just trying to remember with when you did the PCV system. Did you give all the induction pipes n intercoolers a bath in degreaser and hot water? Just cos if the PCV was what was causing oil to get into the induction side of things and that has now been rectified then if the coolers etc weren't properly cleaned you will still get blue smoke on start up until all the residual oil is gone. Any oil sitting in the heads against the valve stem seals and getting into the engine would mean the sels need replacing which after over 200,000 miles is kinda likely but that's if they sit in a pool of oil. Otherwise I'm just thinking all the induction needs a proper clean but then that's a lot of stuff to remove. 😉

Corrosion in tailgae indicated hevily on both drain holes at 10:21 & 10:22. This was 99% cause of bad connections to number plate lights and problem with inner/tailgate rear lamps. To avoid future problems (for yourself or next owner) I would look into replacing third brake light. Seals on them are terrible and most common issue for water ingress into C6 tailgate. Also check if any corrosion is present on rear wiper motor. You got all the trim off so might be good to replace while then'n'there, reather when it pack up Love RS6 C6 model so much, I enjoy every video of it:)
