Natascha, In Germany we have a quite large Russian community. Most of them are descents from German immigrants who settled in Russia when Catherine the Great reigned Russia. Many of them got an offer to return to Germany after the Berlin wall was torne down. These people are to a large extend pro Russia, same is valid for many people living in the former East German regions of our country. But the vast majority of Germans regard Russia as invader and aggressor and therefore support Ukrain. However there is one political party from the far right, the AFD, that has good connections to Russia and therefore supports Russia. But overall 70 - 80% of Germans stand with Ukrain.

Watch less ZDF and Erste. Just look into the comments on Bild, one of the few journos that allows comments aka free speech under their videos. More than half are pro russian or atleast antiukraine and anti war. Majority of german population is Neutral and doesent care and wants to resume energy cooperation. Of those who care including migrants like me which is 25% of the population, most are Pro russian and the minority pro Ukraine. Actually talk to people and look at actual polls. Even now 61% were against weapon deliveries. Every day there are protests to stop support of ukraine. Ukraine is none of our business

I remember seeing pamphlets inviting me to a 'peace conference' in Poland. The cost was very low so it must have been subsidized by the communist government. They probably copied the idea from WFDY. The last WFDY festival was held in Russia, but in 2017 before the war. Even though the WFDY festival probably always is sponsored some how from the country where its held, each participant needs to pay a participation fee and finance their journey and so on. If the organization you are a member of wants to they can subsidize your participation. There's no way in hell WFDY would let themselves be financed totally by the host country. The financier would have to much power over the actual event in that case. So yes, in every way, this event is something different entirely. And i dont think WFDY or its members are happy about getting confused with Putins propaganda festival.

caleb maupin Well, he was at a nazbol conference sitting next to the founder of the nazbol party and praising his nazbol book in front of nazbol symbols and a nazbol party . And praised Trump. It is possible that he is just really ignorant and thinks he can work with those people for a better cause, maybe it is actually malicious. I don't care. If he acts like an op, we should shun him. I don't think he is paid, or a full Nazbol, but at the very least he is an useful idiot for the CIA and Duginists. And he is also just generally terrible at what he does. No matter what kind of communist you are, you should want him to just shut up because he makes us all look really bad and unhinged. I also agree with the other poster, he is clearly building a cult of personality. A while ago there were accounts on reddit (probably himself) that only posted extremely strong praise of Maupin, every day and every single post, with pictures of him as some kind of leader, that threatened people who criticized Maupin with violence and insulted trans people. Look at his biography that he wrote himself: Caleb Maupin is a widely acclaimed speaker, writer, journalist, and political analyst. Unlike many leftists and radicals, Maupin does not reject patriotism or religion. Maupin considers his politics to be a continuation of radicalism and revolutionary spirit that is found in the heritage of the United States. Maupin is beloved by young radicals who are new to leftist

All of a sudden a big column of dark smoke started coming from the airport which, btw, is basically inside the City, like, it's a 15-minute drive from the stadium to the airport. You couldn't miss it. The local authorities said it was a "planned exercise" 😏. What it ACTUALLY was, was a Ukrainian drone hitting the avgas fuel silos across the street from the airport. I don't know if they delayed or cancelled flights. It being Russia they probably were just like "f*** it" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Natasha, please keep speaking your heart and truth. I deeply appreciate you. We live in a hypocritical world that is digustingly unfair and imbalanced. And we are quite powerless because the powers that be overpower us. But we have to hold on, be strong, and keep on living in truth. We need to face true reality in order to chip away at it to shape it into something new. I pray that God backs our efforts and grants us power to conquer evil, oppression, deceit, and every other thing that sets themselves up as God when they are not! Peace be with you.

I'm definitely for Ukraine, so not all Germans are for Russia, but to be honest, we have a lot of people who actually support Russia for various reasons. Personally, I haven't talked to my father since February 2022, because he was fully on the "NATO expansion myth" train. A lot of my cousins are pro russian. We have several political parties like the AFD, die Linke and BSW, as well as prominent figures in the SPD, who are openly or secretly pro-Russian. So we have a lot of prominent pro-russian voices in this country and they can actually influence the stance of the general population, which is sickening. Germany is really a weak point in the support for Ukraine, even if they are the second largest supporter right now, it is hesitant, slow and lackluster. I'm so frustrated with that. So, no, not all Germans are for Russia, but a large percentage has worryingly sympathies for Russia's War and it makes me sick.

I'm just speechless. So much bloodshed done by Russia. So many people murdered without reason. I could never join such an event. I can't even enjoy my life thinking about it. But most people have no compassion or brain. We have to accept this fact.

Regarding '10K participants from abroad'- I think it is not what it seems:). I watched few videos on russian youtube and was surprised that many foreign participants speak decent russian.... then several of them mentioned they study in Russia. Than I found video of my compatriot(a Czech)- I watched his channel as he studies in RU and creates videos on 'how russia is great and how everybody loves Putin' - and he was -surprise surprise, also a participant. I did ask in comments what % of 'foreign participants' he thinks were students who actually already study in Russia. He did not give clear answer but mentioned 'he met there several groups of foreign students in Russia' and also that one other Czech participant was also student in Russia. And that it was "hard to tell". So based on his pro-putin views I assume he just avoided saying that it was actually a majority:) ...SO....to sum up, I think significant % of 'foreign youth' were actually these students who are already in Russia and were given the tickets and used this simply as free extended weekend with expenses paid;)

"A festival of useful idiots"; I absolutely love this. And for all those who ignorantly and mistakenly idealize my own country the USA as the shining example of 'liberal democracy' (or whatever) for the world, I will add that the reason this phrase from Natasha is so resonant with me is that this best describes my lifelong experience of unthinking and badly-educated 'patriotism' within my own country, throughout my 63 years of living in it.

Hearing this from an American gives me hope, because in recent times it's beginning to feel like the two biggest opponents of our world are more and more becoming two sides of the same ugly coin. Love and strength to you from a very small, very insignificant country.

@@catonkybord7950 Your opening clause led me to assume, correctly as it turned out, that you must not be an American yourself. This is because of one of the things I find the most disturbing and portentous in my own country, which is this binary thinking which assumes that if you are not 'for' one particular faction or ideology, you must therefore be 'for' its presumed opposite. Things I say in criticism of this much-overrated 'American Way' have been taken by fellow Americans all my life as either meaning I hate my country or that I am some kind of cause-du-jour campus liberal who believes in the latest causes-du-jour. My thoughts and opinions about my own USA are so complex and deeply-rooted, and admittedly contradictory or impossible to implement my own solutions for, that in themselves my right and freedom to object to far more about my country than I am willing to applaud about it is probably my favorite thing about being an American. Figure that one out, if you can.

Thanks for this. I didn't see this festival in the media. How you can turn something as innocent as a youth gathering into a justification for war and conflict is amazing. The Russian government puts a lot of effort into this but its still clumsy and obvious. Great analysis. Please keep posting.
