Ойын-сауық

Imagines a world where a remote control can literally control your child’s life, rewinding time at a whim to retake failed tests and prevent him or her from being mixed up with the wrong crowd.

I watched this episode and it was so fucked up .The kid constantly kept killing himself because he was so done with his mom's controlling behaviour but she kept reviving him back .The fact that she still had the remote with her even though he was a grown ass man angered me to the core.

Even if the kid wants to leave them I don't think they can like for example in China there is a law where parents can actually sue their child all because they didn't visit them apparently it doesn't matter whether a parent is abusive or neglective or the parents aren't that much involved in a child's life

As someone who has felt all throughout her life that she had to live up to certain standards and who wasn't really given the space to truly experiment when younger, this hit me right in the feels. Hence, if I were to ever have kids, I would allow them to express themselves and love them for who they are and aspire to be.

Liberty is the capability to simply act only within the bounds of laws and regulations, for giving humans freedom results in total chaos. Look at what humanity has achieved with freedom - turning away from the gods, forging their own path, and doing things they're not supposed to do, like genetic manipulation and landing on the Moon! @@a1marine105 Honestly, I'm pretty sure that's a stereotype. A lot of the Gen Z people in my country aren't like that. They're responsible, serious, and they lead protests against our leaders because of the oppression we're facing. And I wouldn't say that we're easier to manipulate at all. A lot of the naiveness just comes from young age or lack of awareness. In contrast, I think the internet really helped raise more awareness in everyone including younger audiences. And I've seen that with my Country, they try not to let themselves get pushed around by the system. And lastly, a lot of people are depressed. I know there are some that pretend, but I think that was unnecessary for you to say. There will always be a group of people pretending to be what they're not, and we'll always call them out for it. But depression is a pandemic, and I'm glad the internet has allowed people to realize they're not alone and talk about it casually from a "therapeutic" standpoint. I just get offended everytime someone says "Gen Z" and immediately comes to the conclusion that we're TikTok kids who don't know anything about the world. It's ridiculous when someone only wants to see one side of a generation. And I don't blame anyone either, the media likes to make this a thing. They don't talk about the other people from Gen Z, they just show you a video of a kid dancing on the internet and talk crap about how cringey their generation is. At least that's what I've seen a lot of the time.

Maybe I'm thinking too much but I feel like that end when he gets hit by the truck really signifies how when a parent controls their children's lives to an extreme, it kills the childs sense of self and self worth. Except that there is no time machine or remote that reverse the pain or give back your child the time that they lost. Good intention means nothing if your actions do not reflect that intention.

What the mother did was excessive yes, but she cared for her child and eventually controlled him. I couldn't agree more I was just super lucky to have parents who aren't controlling and abusive (I'm Asian btw). But as a kid my family frequently used to go to my father's grandfather because work is closer and a school which I enroll there, everyday I go to my grandfathers house after school and do my own thing with my cousins but grandfather is massively abusive(even to my father a long time ago).Every time I do even minor wrongdoings or my cousins wrongdoings like breaking a cup, playing inside a rice field(already harvested), Breaking a plant, skipping homework etc... I had to endure the belt(especially when hit in the metal part), the slipper, that long stick after that we are forced to do dishes(and if you do the dishes wrong oh boy punishment again) then remind us to not do it again. Those days were putting a scar to my body very fearing the man I respected. As for my girl cousins and sister were pretty lucky since my sister goes in a kindergarten near my home and usually less punishment for them. My grandfather died in 2016 and I am glad and sad about him, very glad that I will not receive punishment ever again only teaching on how to be better by my grandmother and very sad because he was pretty darn good cook in the house.

Part of the joy of parenting is seeing your kid(s) happy and able to live their life by their own standards. It’s taking care of someone while still being able to question and anticipate what they’ll do the next day. Even though there’s a lot of negatives, there’s also a lot of positives, and so much to learn from. With a remote to control them the thrill is gone. You might as well adopt a pet rock instead or something, at least it’s easier to take care of.

"World where parents can control kids with a remote." See, in many places we already have that. It's called verbal abuse, physical abuse, and guilt tripping. No but in all seriousness, I can't wait for the next generation of parents to end this practice for a large part. Many of us have now learned from our parents' mistakes thankfully. A child is your loved one and a friend, not someone who's beneath you just because you made them or because you pay for their necessities. Help them understand between right and wrong and that you want the best for them, but don't control their entire lives like it's your own. I'm just tired of parents treating their children like farm or circus animals. It's dehumanising.

Going back to the video context, if the mother really wanted her kid to score well, she shouldn’t keep turning back the previous day where he had just gotten the report card, as the score is already done and printed on.

I have to disagree with you about the bad guy here. The antagonist is the mother, she is overprotective, obsessive, and abusive. The kid basically can’t live his life, and he never got to go another date with the girl he likes. She also forced him to date with another girl she wants. But I feel bad for the kid because he never gets to choose his life and he never gets to be with the women he loves
