Britain to the Arabs: I'd offer you Palestine, except I offered that to the Zionists, but probably we'll just take it. You want Syria maybe? Oh wait, I agreed to give that to the French along with Lebanon. I would offer you part of Turkey, but hmmm, checking my cheat sheet, yes, that got promised to, Greece and Italy (really? I guess I did say that). I could give you a little piece of toasted sand just east of the Jordan River, but you have to be nice to the Europeanized twits I send you to govern it. You can claim Mesopotamia, but really, we all know I will be getting the oil. OK? We done here? I have a tea date with Francois. . .

the triple entente was an alliance that had a very clear agreement regarding the balkans, in fact both austria and italy had interests in the balkans and the pact obliged the country that started a war in the balkans to have the consent of the other allies ... when Austria declared war on Serbia it asked Germany, but not Italy... Italy considered this not only a violation of the pact that freed Italy from all obligations, but also a reason for resentment in comparisons with them! therefore Italy not only changed sides with a valid reason... but also had valid reasons to later go to war against Austria!

What I really liked about this video was how you really spoke about it as a WORLD war. Too often I feel as though general summaries of the world wars oversimplify it to the point where they only talk about the european countries involved. It really did involve and affect a huge percentage of the world and I appreciate how you at least BROUGHT UP the african combatants.

I believe that if the war crossed over into Switzerland that the Swiss would have had no choice but to get involved. Switzerland was very lucky. The Axis powers had no intention of respecting Belgium or Luxembourg that said they would remain neutral, and I believe that they would have gone into Switzerland if it meant easier access to France. Switzerland participated in helping wounded World War I soldiers. I believe they helped both sides with this. And I think that the Swiss would have jumped into the ranks of the allies had the Axis powers invaded... which I believe was going to happen at one point?

I am from Moldova, my Grandpa told us, that when he was on first line of battle on W.W. 1 and meet face to face with a soldier opponent, and raise the sword to kill him; that man said: "Brother, do not kill me, because my wife and my children are waiting for me at house." When he heard that, the sword fell down from his hand. When he was returning home, he was living in a village and a she dog with two puppies big as her, meet him at the border of village territory. She was very happy and welcomed him as good as she could, but the puppies did not knew him because they were born after he went to war. So, they were barking at him and were angry with him, but their mum the she dog stopped them and bite them. When Grandpa saw that even a dog was waiting for his master, and is so happy when he returned, his eyes were in tears, because many which were waited of their lovers will never return.

It's always been my belief that a war comprising of the 3 great empires (UK, Fra & Russia) against Germany would have taken place anyway sooner or later whether the Heir was assassinated or not. Germany was the new upstart threatening the supremacy of the existing superpowers and empire builders.

I already know most about the First World War in relation to the Western Front. I do know the tragedy of the Eastern Front (The Austro-Hungarian army decimated Serbia, I think their actions were considered war crimes when you considered the amount of civilians they murdered). If you are interested in picking up any non-fiction books about the First World War, I can definitely recommend some. :)

Not as good as someone who don't know anything would say. Dude didn't say anything about how Serbia created great Yugoslavia country out of Austria Hungary empire and tripled it's size. Nothing about southern front which determent the war. He literally said nothing about it except that Bulgaria attacked Serbs from back and that caused Serbs retreat. By his explanation you can understand that Austria Hungary declared war on Serbs and then fought France 🤣 video is dumb as any short explanation of anything on KZread.

It is not even mentioned that entente countries couldn't invade Istanbul during the war and that's why they couldn't send supply to the Tsardom of Russia which resulted with the success of communist revolt in Russia. Gallipoli is a very essential part of WWI where more than 500k people died.

Kept fighting and stopped the Central Powers offensive even though 80% of its teritory was occupied. Then the Russian sgned the Brest Litovsk armistice and the whole Eastern front broke on the Romanians' heads...Only the Serbs had more casualties / capita in WWI.

Then when you talk about German collapse, it didn't happen on the Western front, it happens after the breakthrough of the Salonica Front (Thessaloniki), de facto destroying Bulgarian and Austro-Hungarian armies capacities, prompting Germany to negotiate an armistice!
