Mexico, here we are. To start this journey, Catia and I settle in Oaxaca for a month.
I don't know this city yet, but I can't wait to wander its streets. A month is quite good to really immerse oneself in a city and its culture; that's why I chose to stay with locals in an incredibly charming house. I'll also have time to take Spanish lessons as I don't speak a word.
Unfortunately, troubles arise in the first week, and I learn that I'll have to leave the country if I don't want any issues with the authorities because I only have a 30-day tourist visa out of the 180 allowed. The city is truly splendid and full of life, with music and festivities everywhere. I get along very well with Diego, the son of the family I'm staying with, and he takes us to the small village of San Martin Tilcajete, which has become an expert in woodcarving Alebrijes, these mystical beings from Zapotec legend brought to light by the Disney movie Coco (which I adore).
