That's it, the adventure truly begins as we've reached Chiapas, marking the start of our journey.
Everything starts in San Cristóbal de las Casas, the most important city in the region, situated at an altitude of 2200 meters. From there, we embark on a day trip to Sumidero Canyon, impressive when at the bottom of the river, gazing at its cliffs that can reach heights of up to 1000 meters.
We spend the day there and return to San Cris in the evening. The next day, we explore the city and get ready to leave as a long road awaits us. Departure at 4 a.m. towards Palenque, with a first stop at Agua Azul waterfalls.
The climate is already changing, becoming humid and warm with lush vegetation, everything I love. Even if it's a bit gray, it doesn't matter; the waterfalls are impressive. We spend a few hours there before hitting the road again for the legendary site of Palenque.
The day concludes at the ADO bus station, where we board a night bus to cross over to the coast in Quintana Roo.
