Very funny that I don't have the attention span to sit down and watch a feature film people spent millions of dollars and years of their lives making, but I'll happily sit and watch Eric play duck chess for that long. Thanks Eric.

Really late, but came to comments to say same. I have a feeling the opponent was stream sniping and took Eric's words for granted. Earlier he prevent an insane attack after Eric gave an extensive explanation at 1:07:34 aswell. It does feel weird that he saw three attacks at once and yet was blind to such an easy move. Tho, I don't know if Eric was trying to trick him and sensed the stream snipe or did he really also miss that the queen can go back and block with the duck. I could be wrong and I might be making stuff up. EDIT : Eric did say he had a blind spot for the queen going back, but still opponent was sus (to me at least).
Idk why I find it funny to see Eric reading from a script but congrats on the sponsor
Finally a youtube who actually understands duckchess
Half way through, and I'm still waiting for the world's largest duck.
You deserve a QM title Eric I love how everyone Reading will mnow what this title is even tho it literally does not exist

Love the duck content! I really liked the giant wacky variant that had the camels too

Did you know that egyptians invented duck chess? Except that they played it with chest shapes. That's why they called it Chest chess. Also, they played it on the chest of a servant. So it was Chest chess on chest. It was an other time. They talked a lot during the games. It was Chat Chest Chess on chest. Also cats played it. It was Cat Chat Chest Chess on Chest. It was everyone's favourite. It was the Best Cat Chat Chest Chess on Chest. They made a big event for it. The Best Cat Chat Chest Chess on Chest Fest. Best content Eric, thank you! You're awesome!
FTX crashes. Eric Rosen: "Oh No! Your money!"
I love using gambits in duck chess. The development seems to be worth way more in duck chess than normal chess because usually the duck cramps your position in an even match. Just had one where my opponent accepted the danish gambit and I ate the poor person's soul. They work so well.
I love rosen man. The subtle joke he makes makes me laugh honestly.. fuckin quacktics he says 😂
25:30 In the weird Scandinavian opening where Eric wins back the pawn, his opponents keep missing Nc3+Df6. This would prevent Eric from winning back the pawn. White can follow up with a6 later.

I.e. In all three games with this opening in this video, Eric's opponents played Nc3+Duck-e7, but Nc3+Duckf6 is much better IMO and seems to prevent Eric from winning back the pawn.
@fifdspence

Nice idea! Trying to think of whether there's a refutation. Was wondering about 4.Nc3Df6 Qd6Dc4, threatening to recapture on d5, but then 5.Nb5Db6 looks great for White. I also wondered about 4...e6Dc4, but 5.dxe6Dd7 seems pretty good for White as well. In the end, I'd probably just play 4...e6Dd7 5.Bc4D(any) exd5D(any) and hope that the open lines in the center are enough compensation for the missing pawn.
@WilliamKiely
Жыл бұрын
@@fifdspence I haven't analyzed deeply to know if there's a refutation, but intuitively it seems like a much better try for white than just allowing black to immediately win back the pawn. Look at it a bit more, I like your 4... Qd6Dc4. I think your 5.Nb5Db6 is a mistake because black could play Qc5Dc6 preventing white from playing Nxc7) and seems to be winning back the pawn). But white could play 5.Nb5Dc6 allowing white the possibility of Nxc7 later if black plays Qc5. It's not clear to me how black can win back the pawn (may still be possible, but it's at least not easy to spot).
I just couldn’t stop watching this whole video 😍👌🏻 the hikaru of duck chess 🐣

True, they may not have been. it was move 7 that made me suspicious, then the fatal queen move set up from Eric made me almost certain. Maybe not tho
I love those ducks scattered across his house.
1:28:16 i think a great move by the opponent could be to move the queen here, you basically get a piece back if the opp is pre-moving, and you've lost the game anyway if he isn't(only possible because there is no concept of check, he can leave his king to die)
Every time you say “oh no someone call an ambulance….. but not for me” 💯

hahahaha the way duck blocks fianceto is hilarious xD
“Smothered duck mate” 😂 never thought i would hear this combination of words in my life
Knights should be worth more points in duck chess because unlike bishops, it's attacks cannot be blocked.
That smuthered duck mate was stunning.
I think a good idea for a duck chess video is playing an endgame duck chess video, maybe positions made by viewers.
Glad to see you're back on quack promoting this aquacktive chess variant

If it waddles like chess and quacks like chess, then it's probably a duck.

1:09:50 didn't white have Qe2 or Qd1 and duck blocking the diagonal? Also: love your videos, cheers from Brasil

Smothered duckmate 🤣🤣🤣🤣

At 1:09:15, can't white go Qd1 and duck e2 or f3?
58:16 He missed N×f2++ De3 followed by N×Rh1 Dg2. It's double check from Knight and Queen after opponent moves Duck, so White must move the King and lose the Rook next move.
That was so fun
4:50 Yes, I think is probably on KZread. Or maybe it's in my head, and I'm standing in a white room, banging my head against the wall..
Knights are so op in duck chess since they are only affected by the duck if the duck is on a square that it wants to jump to
Nice mate in game one Edit : Beautiful mate in game two as well
The smothered duck mates were truly downright disduckting
I feel this video is important data in answering the age old question: Would you rather fight one hundred duck-sized horses, or one horse sized duck?
