@@oldman2800 Exactly! But manufacturers are afraid of aftermarket battery packs. It will happen eventually though. EV battery tech is somewhat of a black box & Battery packs are probably less safe compared to a gas tank right now 😂😂 Most battery packs are simply adapted versions of batteries made for power banks & laptops. There will be significant improvements in the next decade, and 2-wheel EVs will start outperforming and out-selling gas bikes within that time too. A decade. But it'll happen.

Good specs good price especially for the SX @19.990$. before it's too pricy for low specs and after you pay too much for few upgrade in specs. I will see their best bike @20K$ in a few years when tech and batteries will drive cost down.

Ignore Lightning for your own safety. The EGO is awesome and I think it's fair to say they are a well built bike regardless of which model you get. The Ego deserves an award for one of the best looking electric sport bikes on the road. Damon & Arc Vector might be the best contender for hot looking bike with sport bike aspirations but I have no access to hard data on it's build quality or anything else. I've tested several Zero's, they were fast enough for my tastes and also reasonably comfortable to ride although some of the ergo's of the dual sport model bothered me some. I'll be testing some Energica's this year.

No it actually doesn't change anything, if you've been riding street long enough on powerful bikes the 'dynamics' of it are all dependant on the rider. I've ridden sport bikes, adventure bikes and even bmw's 1.6 litre sport touring bike in rain, snow, icy roads. The outcome of any ride is almost entirely dependant on the skill set of the rider. All that aside, Bosch and other safety component manufacturers have been working with the established players in the E-Moto market to create and integrate all the fancy ABS capabilities found in mid-high end sport bikes.

I can get my Tesla do have a wheel spinning, even going full throttle around a corner on a wet street. The traction control is so smooth you wont feel anything. There is no throttle body which needs to be closed and will react with lag, rhe electric motors can adapt their torque output with 20k hertz. EVs are safer in that regard.

There is a lack of uniformity in standards on how total mileage is calculated; During early days where it was Zero and Energica was out there but struggling to have a presence in the US market, with no other contender worth mentioning.. Speeds were calculated based on urban travel with the assumption that you weren't going to be going faster than 30-35mph. Urban travel would also permit more use of regenerative braking as well. Zero used to have a disclaimer on their site in small print that they took down after I found it, explaining how they arrived at the seemingly crazy number of 150 miles. If I were to do a consistent 35-40mph on my 850cc ICE bike, my present 200-ish mile range would actually be 375 miles with 4 gallons. Instead of 70-75 mph. I've tested several Zeros in real world conditions of being my commuter bike for a day, my commutes typically involve me traveling 60-65 mph for 85 miles in a day with very little urban travel. Optimistically they have about 100-110 mile range without the expanded battery, I'd say Energica's models may be similar to that if people ride like I do.

@@Enonymouse_ Agreed. At ZEV Electric, we test on the highway at a steady speed. Others use computer programs to calculate based on a dyno. We use a 120 mile long dead flat stretch of highway from Maryland to Virginia along the ocean. Anything else is just conjecture. We have no way to replicate every possible instance of rider weight, his "sail" area, the degree of grades or undulating territory, effect of temperature and humidity, etc. on air density. Its a common trick in some EV scooters to claim big range, then learn the speed was only 15 mph (or less).

....the only problem is, bikes designed after comic book sci fis appeal to very small community of people who has a taste for pop culture reference. Majority of consumers wants a generic familiar looking product. The Honda NM4 is an example, that looked bit something like Akira bike....didn't sell very well only because it looked odd for pedestrian consumers.

It’s manufactured as a track bike, and it’s $50k so you would be spending more and trying to appease the local dmv to give you the green light and meeting there requirements. Yes, it’s possible. Is it possible everywhere? No, emission heavy states have stricter regulations. H2 is fast topping out at 200+ and is the street legal version. The H2R tho is a entire different beast. Both are fast bikes. I’ve test drove one at Sebring raceway and was shitting brick. They are scary, and I’m a torq junky.

@@DragoMusivini I answered your question incorrectly you asked if the h2 could be modified to H2R levels, and I have yet to see that. H2R has carbon fiber body parts, I think one body fairing is like 10k so they are not cheap, you would probably spend more trying to upgrade and piece together a upgrade than trying to buy the H2R and jumping through hoops to make it street legal. H2R has a massive turbo and intake manifold in the front you could probably drop weight and add more top end but unless your doing a full engine and body swap I don’t believe you would hit H2R speeds. Once you get above 200mph every mph faster requires leaps of engineering. The fact that Kawasaki was able to push out the H2R still impressed me.

218 mph doesn’t impress, it’s only a number to brag about at met-ups. 400 mile range would impress, and be more practical to boot. Even if it only goes a paltry 150+/- mph. That’s something you could use.

Correct. Even on a racing circuit you cannot sustain 408 km/h for more than just a few seconds or you become space dust in the next corner. There are some experimental solid state battery chemistries that promise to increase autonomy by quite a lot, we should hopefully see them in a few more years.

400 mile range in an e-bike would be impossible on a single charge, if you suspend disbelief and ignore commonly accepted (proven) standards/practices of engineering and physics, you could hit 400 in your sleep. I'd settle for one that mirrors my actual bike usage of 150 a day as a commuter/grocery getter.

Yes you can, both Energica, Harley & Zero are, but charging time depend on Battery size and on-bord AC chargers (1.5 kw/h for HD, 3 kw/h for Energica and from 3 to 12 kw/h on potions on Zero). Both Energica and HD has CCS speed charging (40 min on DC charging stations), but not available on Zero. All the other are not really available on the market, and some mores looks like scams unfortunately.

If it proves to be anything close to the specs you say, it has some hope of emergence in the american market. However 25kw is not a lot, raw power does matter some. The electric bikes coming from China are absolutely frightening, they are underpowered and their frames are basically built with spaghetti grade welded steel.

The H2R is a production bike, and I know what your referring to. It had to be modified by kawasaki for the record attempt. Kawa told the rider they literally had 30 seconds to hit the speed or they would die from ruptured tires (tire integrity would fail after 30 seconds at those speeds).

None of these accelerate like the H2R. I saw one race a Tesla Model S Plaid, which has a 0-60 of 1.9. The Ninja accelerated faster and topped out at 400 KPH (about 250 MPH). That model S accelerates faster than anything here, and it still lost, though these bikes are definitely impressive. All of these bikes are cheaper than H2R. Good video, despite the title being technically inaccurate.

S-Plaid and the Model 3 both are crippled in firmware for various reasons by Tesla (despite both of them model S and Model 3 sharing similar hardware). Comparing them to other fast vehciels is kind of like racing a stock Miata against a Koenigsegg. If they were fully unlocked they might give the H2R a serious run for its money, as it's always been though 2 wheeled vehicles usually out accelerate most cagers right off the starting block (electric or otherwise) but eventually when top speed becomes a concern things even out.
