I'm watching this and just looking at the block and head. It's the same as in my daily and my mouth is wide open in shock at how strong these motors are, to be punished as much as this guy does and still runs with minimal maintenance. Now I understand why my daily 2004 BA Classic with over 200k on the clock doesn't miss a beat. Even at freeway speeds the tacho barely gets past idle and at the traffic lights, still pulls well. No oil leaks. I can sit in a traffic jam at the height of summer and the water gauge barely moves. It's on it's second set of spark plugs (should be on it's 3rd set but who's counting) An amazing motor, so under rated by the vast majority of people because it's a Ford and not from some over priced European import.

Don't tease me haha My 1.8 honda engine does just fine with its small ebay turbo. It's not tuned on a haltech (sorry guys) but it's old OBD1 electronics, I added a socket to the factory ecu and ran it to a 28pin EPROM emulator. I also ran a 4pin data header from the ecu to a datalog module. Through the laptop I have datalogging and realtime tuning, much like a standalone. It's really neat stuff.

Guys when ever u see a car doing 3k more rpm the secret is a de stroked crank and lighten internals so the big turbo can be maxed out in higher Rpm .... a lot of the 4 banger boys are doing this to run monster turbos and make much more power in the higher rpm and less gear changes also helps 1/4 mile times

There you go all you LS fanboys out there,this beast would blow away any LS competition,no question the barra is arguably the best inline six cylinder engine ever made. When it comes to cost,reliability, and strength and insane power not even the 2jz and the rbs can match this horsepower with the build cost of a barra. Impressive numbers indeed, unfortunately he went up against El Humilde (personal best of 5.94@242) who drives a 3/4 chassis car with a 3.2L engine. Not bad for an engine that dates back nearly a 1/4 century. One can only speculate what she'd do if she were a full tube chassis/fiberglass body car.

They do indeed...Some of them are capable of near 2K horsepower essentially because the bottom end is very similar..I have an AU ll (SOHC) and the FG DOHC Barra and the older engine feels as strong in normal driving . in some ways it sounds better ..love them both ..best quote on the ford straight sixes..THEY'LL OUTLAST RELIGION ..

I'm running Australia chi head Cleveland, The heads were perfect no problems . The aluminium mme titus Cleveland block was sent from the u,s with the wrong pistons & they forgot to redeck the block after sleeving. Every major purchase i made from the states had problems! I wish i had done a barra .

I wish I could use the barra motor with the Haltech in my 66 Mustang. It doesn't cost anything to dream

The fact that a car is the fastest of its kind in the world does not depend on the popularity/availability of a the said car. There is nothing stopping people from importing the engine. So it IS the fastest Barra in the world. For now anyway, because there are a few builds (in USA actually) that are getting ready to challenge it for that title.

It’s not the fastest barra overall there is a team that are called typhoon racing that run a barra lakster at Lake Gaidner S.A and it’s ran 249.9 mph. I’m not trying to take anything away from Dions and his car as it is an amazing thing but fastest is fastest
