First Valhalla Speedrun on Show Me Mastery to my knowledge on KZread: all the videos I've seen of the Gauntlet runs being done are on lower difficulties, therefore I'll claim the World Record for now. If you know any other runs on Show Me Mastery that were faster, however, let me know :D
I've been attempting a speedrun of the Gauntlet for about a month now. I did do my first attempts with other weapons, but I quickly switched to the Blades because the Blades allow for more aggressive approach and they have perks/glyphs that give it reduced Cooldowns (Focus the Flames, Whiplash Refresh), increase the damage of Combo Finishers (Scorching Slams) and apply more Status Effect on the enemies (Burning Immolation, Scorching Slams and others)
Show Me Mastery differs noticeably to other difficulties in terms of "tankiness" of the enemies, which actually brings an interesting balance dilemma: skipping on Perk Chests and Perk Shops and going straight for encounters can save raw time, but will also make Kratos not as strong as he could be further on in the run, which will prolong future encounters. Same goes for Rift selection in Greece: Blue Rifts will be easier and faster, but Red Rifts give better, stronger Perks/Rewards. In the end, I decided to check Shops and Chests and also prioritize harder Rifts to have a chance to get better Rewards from them, therefore making Kratos stronger for upcoming fights, including Tyr bossfight
This run was particularly lucky in terms of Perks and Burdens that I received: I got both Scorched Sweep/Earth and Chaotic Rampage damage boosters, Scorching Slams and strong Burden Glyphs very early on, which was further empowered with the addition of Blessed Armaments, Focus the Flames (from Burden), Relentless Might combo finishing booster and Soulless Assault. After that it was the matter of keeping the gameplay aggressive and consistent, which resulted in an impressive time of 16:29. Previous runs of mine were generally in 19-21 minute range, therefore the Perk selection saved me at least 3 minutes over my old PB
