    I would think faster than 'most' people can sprint. It's about 17 seconds for 100m. Most people are in terrible shape.

    @@stsk1061 he ran 26 miles with an alternating team in front of him that created a benefit to his running. Highly calculated. And I’m glad they tested this out. Not a marathon, not a record. A sub 2 hr, highly manipulated run.

    The 4 minutes mark mile was considered almost impossible some decades back!!so running 20-30 miles below 5 minutes continuously is just mind boggling 😮😂👍

    Make sure to be proud of yourself. It’s easy to compare yourself to other runners, especially if you watch running content. But when you look at the grand scheme of things, 0.05% of the US population have run a marathon, 0.01% worldwide. So by completing a marathon you are essential in the top 1% of distance runners

A 4:37 mile is something 99% of runners outside of collegiate,hs and pros will never achieve and is a remarkable achievement on its own even for people who put some crazy hours and serious training into running and the dude did it for more than 26 times,i seriously can't believe it

    Bro these marathoners are different. I mainly run the 800 and mile my mile is 4:09 I am 19. I ran the 5k and ran 14:02. It is just a little faster then his marathon pace but he makes that look easy while was dying so bad the last time trying to run it under 4:40 to break 14 but failed a little.

    i think he got a huge advantage by having a long pair of legs which definitely helps him having longer strides between each steps making it looks seemingly effortless. also them marathon runners are literally a different breeds lol they train day n night every single day, the stamina they had really shows how much work they've done

    It is insane. You can partly tell because of how high feet go behind. My 1/2 mile PR was 2:30, a 5 minute mile pace, age 40, and I almost went down at the end, hard to recover if you trip up on uneven ground. I did a 5:18 road mile race on my marathon training age 42. Now at age 55, 6:14 was the best I could do, although lower training too.

    For reference, when people started keeping track of times for different distances in the mid-1800s the world record for the single mile was slower then his pace for the marathon.

    I ran track in the 80’s in HS and had a PB of 2:00 in the 800 and a 4:25 mile. Pretty quick for the times, especially on dirt tracks and crappy shoes. I can’t even imagine keeping a 4:37 mile pace for more than 2-3 miles, let alone a freakin marathon, wow!!
