World Record Holder Ultra Marathon - Aleksandr Soroki - 44km Run

Alekandr Sorokin has had an incredible year, breaking three world record:
24h, 12h, and 100 mile.
Recently signed to Nike, currently training in Kenya, and looking to break his own records in 2022, we joined him on an easy long run (44km at 4:00/km) to talk all things Ultra Running

I love this guy. He's so down to earth. I guess it's b/c he really *is* just a normal guy. Was partying & drinking all the time. Got FAT. Then one day he just decides to start running... like Forest Gump. But he's working in a casino 3 days/wk while simultaneously training, which isn't exactly ideal. Then the pandemic hits. Everything shuts down, and it turns out to be the BEST THING EVER for an ultra runner bc now he can just, "Run, run, run all the time". Ends up breaking the 24hr World Record, and then Nike comes knockin'. LOL! Hahhaha. I freakin' LUV it!!

Вспомнилось, как пловцы и пловчихи через Ла-Манш или Каталину рассказывали, что весили на 5-7 кг больше, чем когда тренировались для соревнований в бассейне

@@JuanDa-zz6vx 4.25 MINUTE per km( he said in the beginning: completed 43 kms in 3 hours and he barely broke a sweat. I mean he just eat a banana and drank 300 mil of electrolyte also he said it is up and down. After this he broke the 12 hour run record. 24 hours is also in danger. A beast of epic proportions. It is not easy to run like him at all. I have been trying despite being new. i mean even 10 km at 5 km pace is hard even for a decent runner! he is a an ULTRA MARATHON GOAT AND BY FAR. another guy who runs 6 hours and tried to break that 100 km record. he just failed or lately he might have broken. But nobody in this guys class. cracking 300 kms for 24 hours is ridiculous. he has full sponsorship now and pandemic helped him to boost all the way. meaning 2 years nothing but running. he says he runs 300 km/week. wth? that is like a marathon per day man! His nation should honor him like japanese do for their citizens: for example: the japanese awarded one million prize for anyone who broke their nationals marathon record and not necessarily get first position at olympics! Any body who betters their national record gets a million: that is incredible respect for the event! I have never heard or seen anything like that! I just cant get over that top statement! so he must do that in japan. they would honor him. what he is doing is unbelievable. if kipchoge tried this he would land up in hospital and this guy can run marathon in 2.20 like it is nothing! he is 41 or 42 already! The africans only go for as marthon where there is prize money( that is the only game in town and they have no other option but to give it all) they are not in to low budget ultras which needs sponsorship to survive and which is a rarity( he got it after breaking world records. come on now!) so HUGE RESPECT FOR THIS MAN AND HE HAS INSPIRED LOT OF FOLKS!

@@sweatelite NIKE need to get it done as they sponsor both! And it would be super duper hit. but I dont think kip can last that long as he-this runner- said no stopping first 12 hours--what? no break? jesus. then he goes on to say everybody can run 12 hours. that is ridiculous. There is a video here of running 24 hours on thread-mill and he got the record at 261( i cant run on that as it gets ridiculously boring). The team had a great strategy. he did not run non stop( proper rest and plan and monitoring and all that) even kip might land up in hospital but you never know unless he goes back to his weekly run kit which wont cross 300 kms! And unless their is top money--like 250k at least for a winner, make it 500k that is about right. These basketball players who cant shoot making a killing. And those overrated golf players.how lopsided the world is.

"Isotonic" so 500ml of isotonic drink mix would be 30 or 40g of carb and id assume 300mg-ish of electrolyte. Even with the banana this is still very low carb training for 3 hours
