This model is actually old, from 2012 I think. According to the reviews, it is very fast but only if you can keep your head super low. So ok for track pursuit.

Well, the Dutch ruled the WC in Berlin with 6 gold medals, befor big nations as Germany, GB, France an USA!!! REMARKABLE for such a small country.

Judging by the performance at this championships, it is pretty clear that team GB are no longer the dominant force in Track Cycling and will face some pretty strong competition for the Olympics.

I don't think we'll get anywhere near the podium tbh.

It's all about the helmets, note that the helmet choice, bike model and position are the same as used by Huub Wattbike. The general consensus about the helmet was that it was fast but super unwieldy, Huub Wattbike's take was that it was worth 10-20watts, and that you should be prepared to train as hard at wearing the helmet as you would to add 10-20 watts to your FTP.

@@nikos-giorgos the original steel bikes were made in Canada, but yes, like the majority of carbon production, offshore Asia product. Not bad for a small Canadian company to see its bikes in grand tours and making new world records, wherever they are finally fabricated.

Lol I was thinking this, all the training put it, all the effort, the bike is as good as it can be to minimise air resistance, the gear they wear is to minimise air resistance to gain fractions of seconds... And he can't take a few minutes to shave 😂

It's much harder for the rider on the front, so they do turns on the front and rest when behind (due to air drag). It's about twice as hard at the front as being sat behind. It's a team event so the team aim for the fastest time for the 4km distance ( time taken on 3rd team rider to cross the line).

@@sacchin1271 the time is taken on the third rider to cross the line (to allow for a puncture or mechanical etc). Teams have started risking one rider trying really hard on the front of the group and then sitting up.

The final time is set after the third rider crosses the line, therefore the most powerful rider can 'explode' before the race finishes and give the team a great pace to continue on. Cycling in the velodrome is a connoisseur sport, not for the average fan, it's all about strategy and power - Gotta love the velodrome!

It's normal in the team pursuit. The time is measured on when the third rider passes the finish line. So often one of the riders will drop out part way through.
