how the car handles would have been good info .... it looks like total simcade there is no full reverse oversteer and the car doesnt look sideways ever ...

Very unique in many ways even in an already somewhat niche genre. Its focus on much narrow tracks, and road awareness means only the Bold need to apply.

I was a little angry recently since AJ started twisting his content to movie and reaction videos.Fortunately for me,in some comments someone talked about ACG.It is,by far the best reviewer around.Even more than big corporate names like IGN,Gamespot etc... Keep up the great work man :D Loved the review.After Dirt 4,im gonna grab this one.

Big improvement over 6, the rally stages are far better than the crap in DiRT 4. It seems to be a lot more like DiRT Rally in it's hardcore focus, which is very welcome! My biggest gripe is with the robotic pace-notes, it's painful

This looks genuinely good. Dirt 4 was such a fucking let down. FINALLY some genuine competition on the genera.

Thanks for the excellent review. I can't believe how much Kylotonn have improved their titles since they've been in charge of the series, I like 5 and 6 just fine - but this looks like a massive improvement, especially in regards to the graphics. I mean, I would've bought it anyway - I love Rally games, but it's nice to see it turned out well.

Oh man! Didn't know this was coming out. Playing through Dirt Rally right now and it's a complete nailbitter for me! The tracks on this one looks incredible! Intricate review, and thorough as always ACG. Been watching you for quite some time now, and you're starting to open my mind on what sorts of experiences I'm looking for in video games! Please keep up the excellent work.

I would have a blast sitting down and watching a skilled friend tear a game like this up and explain the technicalities. Spin some albums, drink a beer and jump on a few tracks. Haven't seriously played racers since 5th gen. If my backlog wasn't so huge and my financial responsibilities so demanding, I'd find a good modern racer to jump into. In due time. Thanks for the review.

I have a huge catalog. I try to diversify what I play as well. I love changing it up but I normally get hooked on sports games as they are grueling seasons.

I couldn’t agree more. Great game! Lots of tweekable FFB settings. Super excited about this one! Graphics are also beautiful. Only gripe is the FOV in cockpit. Would love to play this in VR.

I am A HUGE rally fan... Both RL and games... And I must say...I totally agree with everything you said about WRC 6. But damn they seem to have completely upped the graphics with this one. I also agree with you on loving difficult games so I think I'm gonna love this one. Thanks for another great review bro!

Good review. Great stages and on the whole the physics are awesome. Hairpin turns are a bit awkward though. Handbraking the car works okay, but the cars do not want to throttle over steer in first or second gear on hairpins. Either the power drops off or the car spins out. Maybe that can be fixed in the car setup though. The cars do drift nicely into faster bends though.

Only racer I play is Mario cart but still came to listen to an entertaining review, nice job

I want that CYOA book from the intro. I still have my collection of Jackson/Livingstone books from the 80's. Great stuff.

This has just gone from in the basket to in my collection, shame it looks like I won't be touching my older rally titles again but that's just what I was looking for with WRC7 and with my latest system upgrades the graphics boost is much welcomed as I will be running this one on top settings I hope, so can't wait!

Simply the best! Looks like a strong entry. And yeah, the cars really do look great this year. I look at these every year but they are a bit hardcore for me. Hardcore crowd though has got to be pleased with this one.

Great review! How is the AI in the career mode? does it seem like a competition betweeen several racers independent of your times, or are the time posted based on your performance? The latter was the case in WRC5 and it killed my enjoyment of it.

I can't believe I've only just subscribed to your channel, I always end up watching your videos anyway. I'm a massive rally fan but never really rated these official WRC games whenever I tried a demo, I'm seriously considering giving this one a try, the only trouble is there are so many other racing games I want to try, Forza motorsport 7, Project Cars 2 & I'm still getting through Dirt Rally & Dirt 4. Don't get me started on Mudrunner, too many games not enough hours in the day.

Great review as per, Karak. I really enjoyed WRC 6 (more so than DiRT Rally tbh) and I can't wait to play this one. Back in the day, officially licensed games used to suck, I think Kylotonn have done an amazing job with the WRC series. Cheers 🙂

I've played most of the World Rally Championship games prior to this title. They have been pretty good for the most part (WRC 6 not included). Having said that, the series doesn't have the same level of polish that the Dirt franchise has. In regards to this title, WRC 7 doesn't end up revolutionizing franchise. However, It is a major improvement over the aforementioned WRC 6. It does seem very enjoyable. The challenge is definitely up there due to some very narrow roads which makes the game insanely difficult. Those who are looking for a very challenging experience will surely get their money's worth out of this title. Great review as always Karak. I really appreciate it!

GREAT REVIEW, your right, this game isnt for casual gamers, its for hardcore racing fans who like to pull there hair if they arent already balled because this game is hard as hell , better off buying gravel or forza horizon , this is a skip if your a casual gamer or if your in to arcade racing games like sega rally, this is a pure sim and trust me you will throw your controller with this game.

Got to say it...I adored Sega Rally on the Saturn, spent an inordinate number of hours mastering it.

Didn't touch WRC 5 or 6 with a ten foot pole. Been following the development of their upcoming TT game as closely as possible and their new level of detail in that game convinced me to preorder this a week ago. Great review... I am now eagerly anticipating its arrival. Kylotonn seems to actually care about feedback, the jump from 6 to this looks nothing short of an outstanding achievement.

This is what dirt was missing. The narrowness of the tracks. This is what rally truly is.

Did you noticed? The car when rolling to the startline, suddenly jumps up I mean, the ride height changing

Really wish this game had VR support :/ I know it's a tough ask for the devs but once you've played a simracing game in VR there's no going back to regular monitors... Aside from that the game looks great

As much as I like VR in games like Project Cars and Asetto Corsa (although it seemed pretty buggy and annoying there) - it's really lacking in the resolution department for these games to see the turns coming. I don't think it's necessary until we get better headsets.

How would you compare the feeling of the car compared to dirt rally, I felt that wrc 6 where way to arcade for my taste, but have they improved the handling on wrc7?

Just bought it on steam for 8 euros. Cannot wait to try it

That co-driver didn't sound too well, as in matching the road with instructions and a bit robotic. I am a huge DiRT Rally fan in VR, does this have VR support ? Roads really look narrow indeed.

You totally forgot to say something about the constant bikering of the co pilot that keeps on saying BREAK every 5 mins while you might or might not need to actually break. Its just like a spare space here BREAK. while pace notes work just fine.

I been dying to get this on ps4 but haven't been able to locate a copy

Codemasters needs to step the hell up now, Dirt4 is being made to look like a joke.

This is the first next-gen wrc title that can be played beside dirt series for me. Take dirt 4 for natural & dynamic experience, wrc 7 for insane stages.

Could you maybe list some of the "lesser known Rally games" you were talking about? I only know about Dirt, WRC and Sebastian Loeb Rally, which I heard wasn't great.

This gives me a lot of hope for the isle of Man TT game that this developer is working on.

On the pc. Between dirt rally and wrc7, which is the best simulator? particularly in terms of car handling. I am considering buying wrc7, but i don't want to waste my money if it isn't better than dirt rally.

huge fan of Dirt Rally for it's wide range of cars, but the limited locations left something to be desired. WRC 7 looks to be the other side of that coin...

So this is okay to use with a controller? I'm new to rally racing and had a blast with Dirt rally and dirt 4 and those I didn't have any problems with the controller. just curious. thanks!
