​@@lseguy in the Weissach package, you can't. However, you can't in the "record breaker" Plaid either. And I doubt 50 kg between the record breaking Taycan and the non-Weissach version would make an enormous difference on the track anyway.

@@lseguyWell, the first car’s lap beat the record by over 2 seconds. The “spare” car’s lap beat that by another .5 seconds, total 2.5 seconds. In a race assuming no stops or tire degradation, at Laguna Seca, the previous record holder would be lapped in 37 laps. And yes, since the Taycan is a 4 door, you could sit in the back seat during the laps although this particular version doesn’t have rear seats. They’ll just strap you in tight among the roll bars and bracing.

I like how the presented the second attempt of breaking the record on the track, like a video game. Also the Vision app... demn it looks interesting experience

Attack mode by shifting up the paddle! Nice to have something to play with in an EV.

How much SOC is consumed by one lap? This question is key for track-day and hobby drivers. This will help establishing such cars into the scene together with providing the needed charging infrastructure to racetracks (see Nordschleife, where only a handful of chargers are in close distance).

1"27.xx in a gutted tin can, no back seats, probably semi-slick tires, and triple the price of a Plaid. Model S Plaid, back seats, road tires(can drive in the rain), and you actually see them on the road. And YES, im a Porsche fan, too.

the car used only has the weissach package so basically -70 kilos, rear seats removed, roll cage and spoiler. Nothing aftermarket as far as I’m aware.

Now that is one fast appliance!

How are you Porsche, a world renowned car company, and you have 1080p resolution for your channel?

If you can, "exchange" MKBHD's recently bought Porche on his 30th birthday and this would be all the marketing you'd need who carries a well reputation among both Apple users and Tesla buyers.

This gives me a feeling that Apple could and may work with Porsche to make the "Apple Car"

so, Tesla Model S Plaid had it at 1:28.213 since 2021. So, you saying Porsche beat 3 year old record and therefore, 3 year old tech by half a second only and at 2x price? Don't get me wrong, we all happy for their advances but it seems they all setting Tesla as golden standard they trying beat and Tim Cook being sour after wrapping up their Titan Project.
