What a nailbiter! Interestingly, while I've (rarely!) seen Reyes (my favourite player) play worse (rushing things, unlike here, where he seems to be fighting the speed of the table, running out of learning time so to speak), I've never seen him make so many mistakes. Ralf doesn't appear to have an easy time adjusting to the apparently brand new cloth either (notice most mistakes are on shots where the cue ball slides/deflects), but on the whole makes the usual fine job of it. Thanks for this!

I'm pretty sure Souqet is one of the few, if not the only tour player to have a winning record against Efren. I don't remember ever seeing Strickland best him even once in a televised match. Ralph may not be the most exciting player but he is at the very highest level and if u ever wanted to pick someones game to emulate, pick his.

To avoid misunderstanding, the latter was meant to be a response to those who believe Efren to be thrown off by Ralf's rhythm (or lack thereof). There's simply no use obsessing over distraction of any kind. To concentrate on what one has influence on is all we can do, to complain about what others do or are like a loss of time and effort. Also, one's got to admire Ralf for not relenting, for not shooting before he's made up his mind, for putting his stamp on the game, for shrugging off criticsm.

Great match. It's nice to know that both of these players are human after all. It's difficult to root for either one of these guys, only because you would be rooting against the other. Reyes and Souquet are both great competitors. It was nice to see a hill-hill match.

Why are there so many glitchy errors in the video quality of all BClub's videos? I am asking seriously, because I don't see video errors like that anywhere else on KZread. Not really complaining, just curious?

In the beginning of each match they do what's called a "lag" where each player hits a ball off the opposing cushion and whomever gets closer to the cushion nearest them on the way back gets to have the first break. That means they also get the sudden death breaks as well. As far as all other occasions, whomever wins the rack before gets the next break.

In 9-Ball, after the break the first shooter has the opportunity to execute a 'Push Out' where the cue ball is moved. If the opponent doesn't like the push, he returns the shot to the first shooter.

Even if so, I'm sure Efren would be the first to tell you that it's his fault if he can't deal with it. Also, in formats not implying alternate break, there's a recipe indirectly based on Irving Crane's old saying: "The guy in the chair can't hurt you!"
