Conqueror is probably one of my favorites and that’s with just a basic commander setup

I like playing Conqueror, it’s a fun and challenging ship. I just wish they would give it better rudder shift, traverse ship and maybe better concealment. The guns are fantastic and Conq has great AP

@@TheSoulfire73 I wish it had just a little better AP damage and pen myself. They’re decent guns but lack a little in that department as well

@@Overheadtrapper That’s what makes the ship so interesting to play, especially with a regular commander…. When to shoot AP or HE and what targets to use it on. My normal routine is HE over 9-10km on most targets and switch to AP on anything but a DD under that range.

Black Colombo I definitely agree on - if you don’t want to do the grind it’s a perfectly good ship, but it’s one of the few examples where I think the tech tree ship is better than the black version. Black GK I think is a slightly different ship from the regular one - my regular GK is still specced for secondaries and I tend to use it at medium range, while the BGK gets the Roma treatment and is better at longer range. Should have a RR2 at least though, it’s t10 for crying out loud…

I think the base GK is better at long range engagements than the Black version and it’s free.

@@TheSoulfire73 They both have PA1 while the BGK gets RR1 as well, not sure why the regular GK is better at range? I tend to have my regular GK specced for secondaries and use it to head pushes which it can do more comfortably given it has sonar, while the BGK I’ve set up with main battery mod 3 for dispersion boost and tend to use it at medium to long range. The main problem that the commander skill set is a bit different…

@@kardy12It’s only because I value the extra PA the GK has over the RR1 without having to give up Survivalist on my commander build. Now, the extra heal the Blk GK has could negate that commander issue. This comes down to personal preference with builds and playstyles with the GK and Blk GK. I see them as equal ships so the fact that you have to buy Blk GK makes it “worse” than the tech tree version. The same reason I didn’t argue about Blk CC being ranked lower than the tech tree CC. Both are great ships and equally capable but you have to buy one so it’s “worse”.

@@TheSoulfire73 I can see that argument. Personally, I think the PA instead of a spotter plane is if anything a downgrade from the CC, whereas swapping a SO for a RR does make the BGK a somewhat different ship to the GK. Whether it’s enough to negate the fact that you have to buy it…? Probably not, but I’d say it’s a closer call than with the BCC.
