That place is still on fire for light's sake. Varian: Hmm excellent idea Maraad, the park should be beautified, gather the Architects I need another Statue, and this time make the chin more appealing. Oh yeah, I know. Taking the greatest stories from myths makes for some good stories.

If there were hundreds of 2d cutscenes like these in the actual game to tell the backstories to most of the small plotlines it would be amazing.. even after playing through all of WoD I didn't really care about any of these orcs or their past until watching this and how interesting it told their stories. There are so many minor quest chains that could really use this kind of story telling in the opening quest to make you really want to go on and care about what happens

In WoD, Frostfire Ridge, Ga'nar stood behind to give Drek'thar the time needed to collapse the mountain to stop the Iron Horde from entering Frostfire Ridge. Such a powerful story. I'm reading the book "rise of the horde" and it's interesting to see each of the clan leaders personal stories. It really helps with the understanding of the orcs internal struggle. They were lied to, their very 'religion' twisted and tainted by Kil'jaeden. The orcs did not know that what they were doing was wrong; until it was far too late.

Im drunk and when i saw durotan's story I suddenly find tears in my eyes. This is the first time i experienced this! Tears just flow in my eyes. I miss my mom :/

Wow, I hadn't seen this before. This was really, really good. The end, when Maraad offers his own life just to prevent it from happening to Stormwind as it did to Shattrath is absolutely amazing.

+Blind Folded Well, to be fair, most orc clans are about blood and thunder. It's easier to like Durotan's story because his values fall more in line with our own than the raiding/pillaging ways of war-focused clans like the Warsong or Bleeding Hollow. I do like the fact that Thrall brought the concept of honor and integrity into the new horde much like Durotan tried in the past. :)

You gotta love how they actually carved a model of the portal, simply for the situation. When the battle ends, they can't exactly use it again for future battles.

Honest poll here; of all the Orc warlords, who do you all think is the most badass? Kargath Grommash Durotan or Killrogg Me, I'm torn between all of them. For Kargath, anyone who can smash their hand off without flinching is awesome. Gormmash is awesome because even when on the brink of starvation, he killed his enemy. Durotan is a sort of tragic warlord with his history and I love tragic characters (hero or villain.) Finally Killrogg followed in the footsteps of Odin and plucked out his own eye to see the future. I can't choose between them, I'm afraid

For me it was Gromar because his armies were broken,his mate gave up on trying,their homes were destroyed and then tortured and starved for weeks. Through all of that he still never gave up on living and took his vengeance.

SPOILERS! Ironic that Grom was tied to a hand-shaped tree and left to die and Thrall using a hand-shaped stone fist to hold Garrosh in place... Way to rub it in, Thrall! :D

It's intentional by the game designers, for symbolism.

26:50 hell yeah all those statues are devoted to those who invaded the dark portal and closed it from the other side; and all those soldiers are about to do the same. I love the subtleties in this series. And in all WoW cinema really.

i like how in Kilrogg's vision the alliance and horde banners can be seen as he's stabbed by countless spears and arrows, i hope blizzard does exactly as displayed. But alas, Kilrogg is awesome.

the third one was so fucking sad.

The dubbing voice is superb and that makes this video epic. Blizzard really plan it very well.

the last story with mayan/aztec orcs was a nice touch.

Damnit man . They need to do this for all the heroes and lore of Warcraft. Hell make the first game into a movie like this.

i would give a big advantage to Durotan from the start since he would probably be the only one calm and smart enough to not charge in and relish in the bloodlust the rest of them would drown in. he would probably stand back and wait for the rest of them to kill each other off and then face the last orc standing.

I can't wrap my head around this xpack. So much effort put into advertising, and what we got is just... awful, when it comes to end-game.

I've watched this series many times and I still find it awesome.

Completly awed this could be 5 movies within one that can just destroy the cinemas. its above and beyond every story is so intense, and well put togther.

Whenever I watch this, for a few brief moments I no longer hate WoD for what it is. Instead I weep for what it could have been.

The thing is, WoD had the best leveling experiences ever, and the best launch numbers. It was a good fucking game! til we reached maxlevel, and then everything went south. The developers started working on legion instead of fixing the games current state. I've played the beta and now I know that blizzard wont make the same misstake with legion. They even said it. And they cant afford doing that mistake again cuz next time, nobody is coming back!

Does anyone know why they didnt make episodes for Blackhand and Ner'zhul? The only reason I can think of is if Maraad didnt actually meet/hear about them but it feels like he should know of their existence.

I would guess After Effects for the animations, transitions, and other effects. They might have used some 3d software for a few spots but doubt it, I think they used some actual 2.5d modeling for some of the scenes in the diablo 3 origin videos, which are similar to these in design. I'm only guessing based on study though.

Does the S.E.L.F.I.E cam make an appearance in any of these epic cinematics?

well the garrisons are what was really disappointing to me, it defied the purpose of "world" of warcraft and made the professions lose meaning. as for the lore Draenor is probably my favorite questing area and the dungeons and raids were actually not that bad

+Eric Bee So sad, and how did Maraad even know the story of the alternate Warlords? I mean, if Grommash's mate from our reality died then where did Garrosh came from? He's describing orcs he never knew. Also, no Broxigar nor Varok Saurfang on alternate storyline.

+Liberty Prime I imagine he's telling Varian what HE knows. The AU is pretty much the same; only difference is that Garrosh went back and convinced them to never drink the blood. So, this entire series, the Lords of War, isn't the AU orcs; it's ours.
