@@huntermosely7420 easily. We were lucky enough to have him come to our club and teach us some stuff.

Very sad. He went for a walk and didn’t come back.

love the head position tip in the intro. low key one of the most things we can learn from wrestling.

I just realized why turtle play is considered fundamental. It teached how to break balance. if you can sweep an opponent on 4 legs, you can sweep an opponent on two. My mind is blown.

coming from bjj, i was wondering why you would choose this (i mean it looks cool but there are way better options) but 5 second rule makes a lot of sense. thanks for sharing!

Yeah, you have to be quick and active in newaza. You can't loiter and build position like in bjj. Different rules. Both good in their way, though.

The primary differences: 1. rule set 2. rule set changes intent How you can compliment your BJJ: 1. Bjj is inherently much more relaxed and counter in nature than judo in terms of "forcing" a position. Time limit etc 2. This turnover engages the Uke with intent and purpose its not the type of move you perform out of shape it compliments more of a wrestling mindset, of going for an attack 3. Self defense: Are you really going to want to hang out and lose a position or with purpose flip the position to a dominant one.

What do you do if the guy lock up and grips his collar / lays flat on his stomach/ how do you engage someone trying not to engage in Newaza
