Well, the ruleset does influence the way you train and it is not rare for a lot of judokas to consequently have limited ne waza: stalling in turtle/attacking turtle/pinning (but not necessarily escaping it somehow) or juji gatame from top.

I appreciate the video but the comments are rather odd for a channel called *Judo* highlights ( *I am not trying to offend you, I am just confused* ): - You discover a choke variation which is not new in judo competitions (which is strange given the hundreds of hours of recording you must have gone through); - the names you use to describe the techniques definitely do not come from judo, - and "next up the Mongolian" is Urantsetseg Munkhbat, judo and sambo world champion who has been renowned worldwide for her ne waza skills for more than a decade. Sankaku jime while attacking the free arm has been one of her signature moves.

People have said this before about the choke variation. And you’re right, I go through hundreds of hours of footage. I was talking about how the leg comes across the back of the head, you see this choke often, but not this variation with the leg. Also, I’m in Japan. In the west you have a lot of BJJ/judo cross over, but not here. I’ve never seen it in Japan, and I challenge you to find a video of someone doing it, even someone else on the IJT circuit will be very hard to find a similar technique. Also, I’m not gonna lie but I don’t watch woman’s judo. I don’t have the time for it and only watch something or someone that catches my eye

@@JudoHighlights2015 As for the choke (eri jime) with the foreleg on the neck, I was taught this technique in judo at a place and time where no one had ever heard about BJJ.
