Shelly should be getting more endorsements especially over here in Europe just like bolt got, I never see her on my screen enough and it’s a shame cause she has done so much for women’s sport and especially in the athletics. No disrespect to the young UK lady she’s done wonderful but she has not done even quarter what Shelly has done in Shelly career but she got big endorsement & adverts on the screen over here. That has to change cause they gave it to bolt why not give it 2 a fantastic athlete probably the best female sprinter in history that is Shelly. ✌️

I agree! One would think that with all these multi-nationals operating around the world that a few of them could use Shelly, Elaine or Shericka as a global ambassador for their brand. Companies like Visa, Mastercard, Toyota, Ford, McDonald's Nissan, BMW, Mercedes and others operate all over and they are not stepping up. I want these women to make their millions while they are still running and they need to make multi-millions! The excuse that these women are not from big markets like the US and Britain anymore does not fly in this age. There are several platforms that can be used for these women. They are photogenic and have great personality, exactly what marketers look for. Step up companies!

  • @Keepdapocket

I disagree. It’s about business. Men buy sports apparel on name alone. It’s like how women buy handbags on brand alone. In the sports arena, men who don’t even play the sport will buy the apparel based on who it’s from alone. Tiger woods polo shirts, Steph curry shoes, etc. For women, they only do that outside of the sports arena. Like their handbags and shoes. I’m track specifically, you have to endorse outside of that sport. Unfortunately, Shelley doesn’t present the look most companies want. And, that’s a shame because she is fine as hell!!!

Jamaica has been known for producing athletes that stand the test of time. I think it started with Merlene Ottey who did it for I think about 3 decades and then there was Courtney Walsh who did it in cricket as a real iron man and then we see this generation of athletes from Asafa and Usain now to these ladies. You have to wonder what is in the water they're drinking and the foods they're eating. According to Shabba Ranks is just will power, strong mind and ability. These athletes are physically and mentaly fit and built to last. Congratulations from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 to Jamaica 🇯🇲 as a powerhouse in world sprinting and thank you for the pride that you bring to the people of the caribbean communities.

The moment flojo record is gone she will not be remember just like a leroy burrells who had multiple world records back in 80s. Why the heck u think asafa ca compete wid usain? Most of the world does not know asafa like usain because him nave those titles! The average Jamaican/Caribbean person walks more, gets more sunlight, eats more natural, fresh foods and does this year round; not just summer. @@kimopple That being the case, you are all African and not Jamaican. You all came from Africa. Humans have inhabited Jamaica from as early as 4000-1000 BC. Little is known of these early peoples. Another group, known as the "Redware people" after their pottery, arrived circa 600 AD, followed by the Taíno circa 800 AD, who most likely came from South America. They practised an agrarian and fishing economy, and at their height are thought to have numbered some 60,000 people, grouped into around 200 villages headed by caciques (chiefs). The south coast of Jamaica was the most populated, especially around the area now known as Old Harbour. Though often thought to have become extinct following contact with Europeans, the Taíno in fact still inhabited Jamaica when the English took control of the island in 1655. Some fled into interior regions, merging with African Maroon communities. The Jamaica National Heritage Trust is attempting to locate and document any remaining evidence of the Taíno. So yes, none of you are really Jamaican so stop claiming it. Claim Africa instead. Enjoy!
