World 4 Skip Discovered After 8 Years of Speedrunning Sly Cooper
Ойындар
In Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus for the PlayStation 2, a major discovery for the game was found just last month, culminating in a 9 minute time save for the speedrun. This video goes into the history of this skip, and the communities triumph in this great find.

I actually remember finding a somewhat void drowning glitch in Sly on World 3, when entering the hub area there are these vines/branches that you jump on and break some spikes attached to them. The right most branch is the one that worked for me when you enter the hub, when you jump on the branch it lowers then rises after a bit. Once the branch reaches the highest point it can go with you on it, you have to double jump back and to the right while in the roll ability. If successful, Sly will launch way past the branch or even in the air. Most times, it launches me to an out of bounds area with some floating graves and some swamp water but I hope it helps out!

This game series was my whole childhood man. I remember staying up super late trying to get all the bottles and even replaying the games after I beat them. If there is one thing I could do in life it would be to play this series for the first time again. I'm getting emotional just thinking about this. Thank you for making this video truly ❤

Trevorsaurusrex here!! I don't really speedrun anymore...but still watch vids from time to time! Really awesome to see you guys still improving these runs after so many years!! @ 4:30 you mentioned the super jump... As far as I know, my twin brother was actually the first one to discover the super jump glitch. (Some of the runs uploaded on our channel trevorsaurusrex were done by me and some of them done by him) Once we had it figured out, we uploaded the explanation video right away. We discovered most of the original super jump cuts on the individual levels but I'm pretty sure it was someone else who found the whole world skips. I honestly can't remember! but I think we had considered it may be possible to super jump in the cannon to skip to Raleigh and then someone else quickly figured it out before we could. Now if you can manage to get cerpin or animeowzers to join the chat maybe we can figure out the rest of it!

Awesome video and a huge skip! Long time watcher and yes please do more!
I discovered this channel very recently and I gotta this video makes me interested in speedrunning Sly Cooper(specifically All Keys) because it looks cool and it's also one of my favorite games of all time.
I have now found myself browsing your videos that I have missed and not been able to get around to watching until now. I originally found your channel off of Sly 1 and then when I saw Jak runs on the channel as well, it really made me appreciate the art of speedrunning for these kind of platforming games. I know this is an old video, but keep up the awesome video content!
I love Sly Cooper so much. Thank you for making this to help expose him to others.

Oh man nice video. Also sick skip, I've seen Mikkel attempt but didn't quite get what was going on until now.
I'm glad people still appreciate this game, I grew up with this game series and my grandmas last give was thieves in time and a few weeks later she died. Whenever I think back of sitting in my room on a small screen 24/7 playing the game series I just have great memories of it. Thanks for the video it brought back a lot of memories !!

Neat skip with a good description!
Weird times when this video made me want to look up old speed runs I watched back in the day so I tried finding a old Jak 3 video I watched years ago by some random guy one night that I for some reason always thought about when replaying Jak 3 just for it to turn out to be by you😂😂
I probably already commented on this video but this video is so good. It deserves another comment. This is a great video! Keep up the amazing work or don't and take a break. You know you do you no matter what you do will cheer for you!
Amazing video ricky
Another youtuber with a good voice that talks about speedruns. Subscribed.
This content is quality, really enjoy watching these. Do you think it would be worth going through already found glitches too, like you'd have Theory series and History series for glitches and stuff? :) I bet many people would be really interested in seeing big glitches and history behind them as well (likes of Jak 1 FCS/Boulder/LTS, GoW3 PS4 Judges skip). Maybe those are done already, but you'll get the picture. Keep going man and create a patreon! Maybe people can suggest stuff in there!

Ah, the Sly Cooper end credits music.... It surprised me how (I believe) the composers for both Sucker Punch and Naughty Dog stuck with their low-fi keyboard/midi techniques for song production from PS1/N64 through at least their first games on PS2, and then some. (Not that I have any clue what I'm talking about.)
I just finished sly cooper 1 again and I instantly see this in my feed, what a coincidence lol

I honestly much prefer your videos when you cover speed games no one really talks about like Jak and Sly, so keep em coming!
I remember discovering the world 3 low gravity glitch as a kid. I didn't slip off the platform like neon did, but I would jump in the air and use the ball form to land on it. If I did it right sly would either bounce out the area or onto the invisible wall that neo landed on. I also remembered I jumped over the gate that you unlocked using three keys. I jumped over it to see if I could find the giant snake that was behind it. I didn't to say the least
i just love a deep voice explaining to me in depth a intricate mechanic for speedrunning for game i've never played
Ah this is cool, as I recently have watched a few speed runs of this game and I remember hearing that if anyone could find a way to skip the keys then it would save a ton of time
