so about 5 months later, there is a grand total of about 3 people who are getting rat proxies in runs now including myself. this is not the impossible trick any of us thought it was, but still pretty fucking hard to get quickly, let alone a first try rat

That section where Dayo talks about taking music too seriously and finding it hard to stay dedicated really hit close to home for me. I just want to say thanks for giving me some insight into not taking everything I want to do so seriously and to just enjoy the stuff I want to do without forcing it.

More impressive is a speenrunner that can keep his cool and have fun speedrunning, what a guy.

@@ThaRixer yeah you can be both. You can have qualities of either and some people express social anxiety by trying to make everyone in the room feel comfortable or by being typically “extroverted”. Great video btw, algorithm will love it too.

I get it now. This is the new wave of sports. A million little games, an achievement and every corner, all of them deserved. Infinite drama, a thousand stories. The same way my dad loved hockey, I love speedrunning.

And now I casually go and check if he's still holding this record and the man's pulled out an Any% record too. Insane.

As someone thats followed Spyro running from its earliest days, mostly lurking in the dark. I thank you alot for making these videos (Also the one on touval), I watched these guys religiously back then and these videos never fail to make me smile. Great video as always!

Dude I may not watch speedrunning live but watching speedrunner documentaries on KZread is some of the most thrilling stuff on the platform.

The way Dayo has established his personality in the Spyro community, the way his KZread channel is branching out into other Spyro subjects, and his wild hair all kinda make him seem like the Simpleflips of Spyro, which I do absolutely mean as a compliment. 👀

"On the 21st December 2020 a light was still shining for a certain someone." Yeah me, it was My birthday plus I got to watch a charity stream and a new spyro wr, it was dank.

This man has the best narrations since Morgan Freeman

Copelands soundtrack is so perfect, I think Spyro 3 is the first game I ever really played

So I just finished watching this video nearly two years after its release and decided to check the leaderboards to see if Dayo still had the WR. As of December 2022, not only does he still have the 120% WR, he has *crushed* his previous time with a 1:21:02, a mere 3 seconds away from getting the first ever 1:20:XX, AND he also has the any% WR, with a 37:57 - the only sub 38. Dude's a legend and the living proof that you really can achieve anything if you're willing to work hard enough for it

Dayoman comes off like a stereotypical '70s hippie who hasn't let go of the late '60s' idealism yet but if he was born today, and I love it. What a legend.

Love this guys mantra. I need to beat that into my overly perfectionist head.

So inspiring. You can fail for days, weeks, even months, but the only way you can never accomplish you goals is to give up.

I'm so fascinated by so many communities I'm not a part of and speedrunning has to be among my favorites to observe and learn about.

It was my biggest passion, but the amount of pressure I put on myself made me miserable whenever I would play, so I'm now focusing on my KZread channel, which is more fun and chill. Speedruns never cease to amaze me. I dont particularly follow the scene but every now and then some record pops up on youtube or facebook or something and they always blow me away.

What a wonderful and inspirational man.I myself have just joined the spyro speedrunning community a little over a year ago and i got to see his world record run on youtube and it was amazing.And to get to see him celebrate with his family and to see that he has the same loves as me with skateboarding and music is extremely awesome.Keep on keeping on man and maybe one day I can join you in the ranks.Although sadly i have lost my mom and i wish i could celebrate spyro feats with her like you did but atleast I have my awesome wife that has helped me since that horrible time of my life.And the more past 30 I get the more my skateboarding gets away from me with my reconstructed knee.But seeing someone like you smile while doing the same things i either do or have done has reinvigorated me to keep doing it no matter what.

The fact that he was still so happy after getting a time 10 seconds away from WR is amazing! Most would be crushed by it.

This documentary video is very inspirational, especially near the end! I'm glad Spyro speedrunning is still going strong too, my favorite games are the 2nd and 3rd and I just love the series in general! So cool! (music choices for the video were awesome as well!!)
