It's a shame that after all Darryl's hard work, you can't tell it's been fixed. But then again, it's a testament to how well the work is done in that you can't tell someone has worked on it. There's wizardry going on here!

I used to do fabrication work on iron and it really takes a lot of experience to get it done correctly people it's not luck overall it's experience how to work metal to make it do what you need it to do to get the end result with it that's all it is about okay thanks Charles
Love me a Workshop Wednesday. Amazing how Darryl was able to turn rusted scrap into immaculate history.
24 MINUTES, I KNEW IT could be done, Curt!! Reach for the stars, no more 15-minute episodes, Curt.
If you are ever looking for a story idea, how about an overview of the museum? Perhaps a little history, and the size and scope of the museum. Maybe some exterior drone shots, and on a day the museum is closed to the public, some interior drone shots flying over the rows of vehicles. 😎 And this weeks video is great as always.

i always say that an artefacts history never ends - its very being at the museum, the state it was in, the very people who work so hard to restore these items and what was done by who is just as important as those who once served in these machines i used to restore aircraft only to static display, but the work that went on behind the scenes and the recording of it, documents as well as video and photographic evidence showed the detail gone into and any improvements that could be made in the future by future museum staff - when i began, none of the aircraft had the detail of stencils and mistakes could easily be made, locating jacking points for example, and set the benchmark very high from what was there previously
I binged watched the entire playlist for the grant this week, absolutely in awe of the skills the boys have and how much they can salvage from seemly destroyed parts. Incredible stuff!
Coming to Oz in about three weeks and will try very hard to make to the Museum. My father was a tank commander in WWII in the US 2nd armored division in a M4 Sherman. You gentlemen are consummate artists. Every episode bring tears to my eyes, seeing the armor and remembering my Dad. Thank you beyond words.

Just went it looks better than on video
It's like watching a 1:1 Airfix build only better. Amazing work, Daryl.
In regards to filling the ammo box with ammunition, I am involved in the resto of a WW2 PT boat in Oregon USS PT658. We have a 37mm Autocannon that needed 39 rounds of ammo to fill the ammo belt for display purposes. Only having 2 real brass rounds/cartridges, we had some volunteers manufacture wooden dummies on a woodworking lathe using the real cartridges as a template. After being painted to look like "brass" and the projectile colors varied between HE and AP (Black and Green) they are now on display and appear very authentic. I think we coated them with epoxy clear coat as well. We like to say they pass the "10 foot rule", meaning that you cant tell the difference from 10 feet away! Just a thought in case you have trouble finding so many actual brass cartridges to populate your ammo racks inside of the Grant. PS you can see these on our website for PT658.
Simply magic. Love watching these fabrication episodes. Turning a piece of half scrap into the complete article. Wonderful.
Another superb resto by Daryl. From carpenter to master fabricator what a star
Glad there was a steel door to protect the crew in case of an inadvertently hit into the ammo box.

Love to see him take the old part and appreciate what it means to stay original as possible, then add new metal and parts only where needed. A true craftsman.
To go from what you started with to what you finished with is amazing Daryl. Sensational work 👍🏻🇦🇺
I love watching this show, I'm a 70 year old, person, and just love watching your people do their jobs so well.
I started off with timber and have moved to steel twenty odd years ago and never looked back If you cut a bit of wood too short you can’t just stick it back on 😂😂 Daryl is the man
It’s a damn good thing you were there Kurt; Darryl been workin so hard he, common mistake, put on the grinding mask instead of weld. I’m sure he would have figured it out before flash burning his retina’s but better to have your extra eyes; not to mention it proves how MUCH you’ve learned already by filming these!! MOST OF US are here to see the amazing fabrication and creation process of these priceless derelict antiques being brought back from the dead ABSOLUTELY IS THE MAIN REASON WE WATCH WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY. For you Kurt this must be INCREDIBLY BORING and VERY painstakingly and VERY TIMELY HARD footage to catch but YOU are making OUR view PART of THEIR EXPERIENCE we are being PART of the restoration thanks to YOU and that’s what most of us are here for. You have an EXTREMELY difficult job of filming the mundane to catch those few PRECIOUS moments of hours of work to a moment that lasts .02 seconds, you are our true viewing heroes cause without filming their lifetime of work goes UNNOTICED.

I’m grateful for the replies thank you! I’ll leave it at this, I live in Maine in the USA, your videos are boarder line teasing as in you could have half hour to 2 hour videos and your fans will watch every moment. Cheers gents I’m hitting the hay and EAGERLY awaiting your next workshop Wednesday!
Another original piece saved. Fantastic work as ever 🎉
“Farmfresh”, that’s a really funny expression!
One more time from the top, Michael…🎶 “ Heat it, Heat it, Don’t you make me repeat it… Use a cold chisel, Use the big press, It doesn’t matter If Darryl makes a mess, Just heat it…heat it …🎶”
That thing looks grate, maybe cast some dummy rounds out of resin or 3d print few to go with that aswell. + Hope you guys could also show the painting process as well in future vidoes like this one, I would like see that...
I've been waiting for "like a bought one" this whole series. Now we just need a "go you big red fire engine" and I'm happy
Ah, Darryl, nice to see someone who crosses their zeros! Took me at least ten years to give that habit up. Still cross my sevens though. Two thumbs up!
You see all these KZread channels of guys who fix cars - amateurs!! :) THESE GUYS build tanks by hand. Frikkin awesome.
It's hard to pick favourites but Daryl is right up there!

I need to get a pair of those PPE Safety shorts !
I did not blink, fantastic amout of care put into the ammo case, and having your work filmed! Great job Darrell
If thats what Daryl can do with metal, imagine what he can do with wood. Beautiful work fella.
Another great video! I love rolling out of bed on Wednesday mornings, brewing a cup of coffee and heading into the shop with you fellas!
Talk of irony I'm watching the imitation Tiger 131for sale video when I received the notification of this video. Good stuff, all.
Fantastic work. I love how this team can sling around 3 inch thick slabs of steel and have the skills to restore a sheet metal cabinet to historic perfection. I love these workshop updates!
Workshop Wednesday makes my whole week!😊
Darryl did a great job. Thanks for posting!
Looks awesome, he did a great job 👏
Thanks again for an amazing episode! This type of content just gives us a glimpse of the mountain of effort, time and skills required for this type of restoration. Restoring, repairing and fabricating is the heart and soul of restoration and I love watching every moment! Well done.

Hi Craig! If you are the same Craig Tanner from Druid Hills Atlanta GA? Would like to catch up with you if possible! Jerry
👌👌👍👍 Well done! I wish I had some of Daryl's patience. Thanks for the video.
I kept waiting for Daryl to get out his dolly-and-hammer o0n those bent edges!. Fun watching sheet metal being straightened, for some odd reason. Thanks D.!
The amount of work that goes into these restorations is staggering. Kudos to everyone.
With the variation, and satisfaction in a job like you fellas have got, it'd be good to get to work each day
Absolutely enjoy watching 5 episodes of the grant restoration each night the lot of you are bloody brilliant , Daryl must have a very tough hide to be welding in shorts like he does those migs send sparks in every direction, as soon as the grant is finished I’ll pick another restoration to follow plus whatever else you can give me , awesome , all the best from Tassie
Nice metalworking skills . I realize you were going for authentic parts but I probably would have completely fabricated a new shell. But that's why you guys have the skills you do!
The fabrication videos always amaze me there is a video on KZread. I recently saw about the oldest Lee tank here in the states it’s located at a VFW hall in Delaware. Sure wish somebody would think about restoring it. This is my favorite tank of the second world war and I always feel it gets a bad rap. I also love the movie Sahara with Humphrey Bogart not only for the tank, but for the interaction of the soldiers thank you so much for restoring this one.
And that's the start to my 'Perfect Wednesday'.
Sheet metal or heavy iron I love you guy working miracles to bring these tanks back to life!
G'day Boys, this show is my favourite one on KZread and l love watching the process involved in bringing items back to life, cheers mates, Neil 🤠.
Damn. Not bad for a chippy! A true renaissance Aussie, oi.
Awesome something to be proud of! She is coming along nicely 👍
What a great job - sometimes the smaller bits are the most interesting!
as an ex coach builder love watching the lads at work
Great work on bring back these old war machines to glory
Compliments to Darryl!
Thank heavens their are still restorative skills in a disposable world
It be unreal and amazing to see this m3 grant tank in action at this year's Australian armoured artillery museum tank fest 2023 and I be first one to ride on this tank at this year's Australian armoured artillery museum tank fest 2023
Terrific video. Absolutely loved it. Well done Darryl on your craftsmanship and patience.
Workshop Wednesdays seem to take forever to get here and their over in minutes, thanks again for another brilliant episode, Cheers
Obvious another great refurbishing project. It looks amazing. I had no idea what it was 'til you loaded a round in it... Thumbs Up...
of all the places on earth with armour museums, this is the best ,I have seen.

Bovington have a better collection. These guys have way better videos.
Good job Darryl, turned out a job well done, I look forward to every workshop Wednesday, would love to work on those amazing machines, living the dream.
Great job on the hinges. Was surprised that it was possible to fix it, but I can't wait to see the further progress as it comes
Great pleasure to see a pro at work
So satisfying to watch it all come together &, having done a bit of this sort of work myself, must give Daryl a lot of pleasure, I would imagine. Always great to see a skilled tradie at work, & the man has a terrific attitude too. In fact, the whole gang there seem cut from the same cloth. Thanks, guys.
Thanks!
Wow, amazing restoration. Any average person would have given up on that ammo box. Great job Darrell. 👍
Fantastic workmanship and craft. Thanks for posting. Reminds me of restoring my British sport cars. Lots of little tricks to bring these relics back to life. Cheers from Texas
The narration of these videos reminds me of that used in the Masters golf tournament. Makes me happy 😊
lovely piece of work Darryl - very satisfying watching something old and rusty come back from the brink to serve again, and the same can be said for the ammo locker hehe
So being a Carpenter, Daryl could Turn-out Dummy Wood Rounds on a Lathe, Quickly, those skills could still be used in this Project ..

Looks like a fun job to have. Great work on the ammo rack.:)
Dude how great was this. I don't weld or grind anything, but now I feel like I could or should. Love this channel.
Hell of a job Darrel.👍👍👍
It would be nice if you guys published detailed books on these machines that you are restoring. Guys like me that can only build models of these usually never get to see the real thing. Anyway awesome work as always, please keep it up and please work safely.
Never fails to enthral me. I wish I had the skills to do this type of work.
I love the music at the end of the movie. Great job guys, greetings from Poland
Amazing restoration work as always. Can't imagine how hard it is to weld that thin hinge without welding whole thing together !.😱
Not too shabby Daryl 👍
love these resto videos, if I'm ever up that way I'll be dropping in mainly to see darryl
Nice to watch a craftsman at work. The video editing is getting a lot better too, with a nicer choice of music. most engineering vids have heavy rock as the soundtrack which is a lazy & cliched soundtrack choice. Kudos Kurt.
Wednesday Grant tank fix back again! :)
Absolutely love these smaller fab jobs.
theres just something so satisfying about seeing some rusty broken old bit being resurected good as new. great work guys!
Thanks AAM. Happy Wednesday. =)
Son verdaderos artistas del metal. Están haciendo un trabajo maravilloso!!!
Nice work, Daryl!
I have used an adjustable wrench many times to straighten metal edges but if you use two of them then you can get rid of the small opposite type bends without having to use so much hammering. Good job with that old rust stuff!
It be unreal and amazing to see this m3 grant tank in action at this year's Australian armoured artillery museum tank fest 2023
Fascinating as always. Great job, Darryl!
Love your Work! Greetings from Germany (NRW)
Great work Daryl. This unit is coming along nicely. Keep these videos coming.
Great workmanship and attention to detail
Fabrication is addictive!
For welding thin metal we used to use oxyacetylene brazing, much more control, and ease than arc welding.
Nice work Daz! Looking real good.
This would be my ideal job restoring ww2 tanks
I find it relaxing and fascinating watching these guys work.
superb video they are all goldsmiths in their field thanks to them for restoring a part of our history to all.
Top job Darrell 👍🇦🇺
Real craftsmen.
I love this channel. Glad to see updated material. Please keep making more!!
All of you guys are so very talented, the best for you all.
Excellent piece of fabrication and restoration.
I wish I had a fraction of his talent. Well done!
Absolutely gorgeous result! Well done, Daryl!
