I was a mechanic on US Army howitzers and related equipment during the 80's and early 90's. The work you folks are getting done is amazing! I have one thing to add, Beau should really consider using earplugs, it may help him to retain his hearing when he is older.
Germans are the masters of over engineering. It still blows my mind that they put effort in to the smallest details like that little one block to stop the thing from bending
This young man is a metal working genius! I really like his patience while working the metal. He has a great sense of humor also! Awesome.
Hello from Cologne in Germany, it is very interesting to watch your channel and to see the progress of the Sturmgeschuetz III. I hope I can visit your museum in the future and see the complete Stug III in reality. It is fascinating how you solve the problems during the restoration and try to make it as good as possible. The videos show how much work and knowledge you need for a restoration. I have great respect for the guys who do that job and can´t wait to see the next episode.
„So iconic, so schön, so StuG.“ 👏🏼 I love your passion, which can clearly be seen every second of the videos!
To Capola or to Qupala that is the question! Being that virtually, every single piece of the vehicle has been torn apart or frozen solid with rust! Then into submission, re-bent to flat! Then welded back together and completely reconstructed boggles the mind! This takes a kind of drive we humans can sure up when we put our minds to something we can do, I stand in awe, seeing this, because I have seen what amazing things we can do, for the good of restoration, or a building dream, a goal in life to succeed, it is in us, it's the drive that keeps one going to each goal we have big and small, never set your sights too low.
I was recommended to your channel by a hobby shop owner based in Phoenix, Arizona that has his own KZread channel. I cannot wait for your next chapter on the Stug. III. I am a retired sheet metal fabricator and I love watching the whole process of rebuilding all the military hardware you work on. I am also a scale modeler that has a large collection of AFVs that I have built over many decades. Keep up the good work!

I carried a piece of 14K gold 10 ft long by 1 inch wide by .25 inch thick from the vault to the jewelers bench. I designed, casted, braze-assembled, set diamonds, polished, and worked with customers. Hammering and welding on a 80,000 lb. hunk of steel/iron looks like a good time. I wish I had the opportunity to woke with ferrous metal. Enjoy!
I love this , I once know a German who lived in the U S. After most of the War. But came back to Germany to die of cancer.. and he was a stug Platoon leader at the end of the war. He was defending Berlin at the end, and one night he drove out of the city past the Russians and made it to the US lines and surrendered. He always loved the stug 3.
Had to have the wife bring my laptop into hospital so I could watch this. Can't miss an episode.
These men have some serious skills. Can't wait for the next video.

If you haven't already check out the Tiger I build, although at the moment it's a static display they hope to get that running one day as well.
Fantastic work. You guys have the patience of Job, working to get this Stug back in running order. This also got me thinking about the maintenance units that followed armies around, fixing battle damage in the field, so they could send them back into the meat grinder.

Awesome - made my day again, great to see Andy here from Andy's Hobby Headquarters and he is starting to bring his fans as well. You guys should be much bigger on KZread, hopefully the algorithm will catch on soon!
I laughed when he said pull it square... I totally know what he meant but it still made me chuckle. Awesome video!
Fantastic work bringing back this STUG since it is in such degraded condition. Hats off to you mates for such a great job.
Keep Beau the big rig in a long sleeve shirt, my Mrs eyes lit up when she saw him in the short sleeves 😆 Fantastic work as always lads, can't wait to see the Stug when she's done

Every time i’ve visited the museum there’s been a couple of wive’s hanging around the little eating area next to the gift shop looking bored out of their skulls. Maybe they should stick a viewing area in the workshop and get Beau to work shirtless every now and again. Visitor numbers would probably double.
Great job your doing men!! I was a tanker in Vietnam M48A3, and a retired sheetmetal worker. When I was in Okinawa before it was turned back over to Japan we recovered a Japanese tank from the jungle that was there since WW2. I was told it was being sent to the states for restoration, or maybe you mate's have it 😎
My wife and I were there for a visit today...it's our fourth time Matthew Steele
Great work! Stug III is one of my favorite armored vehicles .
Best part of Wednesday, the beginning of each episode. The worst part, knowing they're going to end! As always, amazing work! More, more, more!
Damn I'm going to have to change the spare road wheel retainers on my Dragon Stug. Thanks guys
All of you are to be commended on your craftsmanship and dedication to preserving history.
You are my new Mecca - I will make the pilgrimage.
In modern terms, this cupola bearing is called a slewing ring. If you can get this working, a great feat of engineering restoration.
43628. That's got to be a build date, 1943/06/28. European paperwork such as Carnets have the date written this way. Loving the channel. Good work guys.
I restored an SU-76 but compared to your Stug it was factory fresh even though it been left out in the elements since 1950 when the NKPA "donated" it to the USMC. You guys make it look so easy but from experience I know what an unearthly amount of planning and hard work you have invested in it. I promise to keep the secret of how much fun and satisfaction also comes with the job. If you can a make a "runner" out of her you should all get the VC for conduct above and beyond the call of duty.
Thank for show a lot of parts.!!!!!! Waiting for fenders !
Vacuuming a tank, the manliest use of a vacuum cleaner ever!
''Smiler'' (Bo, Beau?) is a magician. 🙂
I would love to come work with guys for free. But I am now disabled. Now all I can do is watch. I worked at CAT and programmed part of the Diesel engine operating parameters. You guys do great work it’s fun to watch and learn a little bit.
You guys have got some fantastic restoration skills, sorting out that bent and twisted cupola was good example, making a brand new one would have been easier. working with all that pitted steel aint easy i,m sure, In fact i would be perfectly happy for you guys to make a brand new one and keep the original as reference material. especially for heavily damaged parts. i wouldn't be able to tell the difference betwwen the new one from the original. it would still be a fantastic and well worth a visit too. oh bye the way "Hilary Doyle" is your man for German armour technical data, hoping i am not stating the b....... obvious. Many thanks.

I agree. A lot of these parts could be made from scratch for a lot less money. I was surprised in one video they replaced a casting with a weldment. If the goal was authenticity one would think they would replace the casting with a new casting. With modern technology replacement castings could be no more expensive than a weldment.
Blocks are on the bottom hatches just like the real thing! I'm building the new RFM full interior just now it's amazing to see how everything is exactly correct on this new model!
The "panzermuseum Munster" is not that far away from where i live. I think they would gladly help, if you have any questions about german tanks, or if you need reference images
Great video as always. Please let the guys know how much we love the content. Off to add the little blocks on my Stug3 model. 🤣🤣
Hi love what your doing great to see all the hard work you guy put into the tank. With all the bits of scrap you have left cut them down set them in epoxy resin you have keyrings out of the bits . sale them as you can own a part of a tank keep up the good work
The content is great, and a shout out to the video editor as well!
I would guess the right number of cupola ball bearings is as many as you can fit in the race, minus one. The Germans were short of ball bearings at times. Sometimes they used wooden spacers to cut down the number of bearings needed, or they just fixed the cupola in place.
Bravo! Would love to shout Beau a beer for his dedication
As always both you fellas are an absolute pleasure to watch
Great job Beau. I'll get you those interior details emailed over shortly. And if you need any clarification on this vehicles clamps holler at me.
I really love this series. There aren't many tank restoration videos and even less that go into detail like this. I really like the longer episodes compared to the earlier ones. For me as a mechanic it is very interesting to see everything coming together. Keep up the good work and I love your videos! Too bad I can't visit the museum as it's a bit far away ;) greetings from the Netherlands!
«The Glen and Bo Show»... Some seriously addictive series...
Love it when a section comes together like this
It's coming along nicely. Can't wait to see it mobile again. Has anymore of its past been dug up yet? Any pictures of how it was found or where it's been all this time?
Fantastisch work your are doing from the old stuf from my German neighbors.
Such a joy to see this being brought back to life
After watching the full six videos on your Stug III G rebuild, I must say that I am really hooked with avid interest. There has been some really great engineering to get around some of the obstacles that have popped up from time to time. The engineering that the German’s put into their armour is simply outstanding and obviously built to last. Fantastic work guy’s. I can hardly wait till next week’s video…..lol
Please tell me the next episode isn't Beau's reaction when you bring another StuGIIIG into the shop! --Bob Baley in Maine, USA

Always a pleasure to see a new video of workshop wednesday. Congrats to all persons of your team.
This is awesome to watch!
Great video as always !. After American bombers bombed bearing factory at Schweinfurt, German had to stop making those rotating cupola for a while. So interesting to know how to set spare road wheel on to that mount. I have those mount in my Stg parts collection, and always wondering how they were used.🤔
Love these updates. Keep up the great work guys !
Fascinating stuff as always, great work as usual

I am so glad I found this channel. I love history and I love the restoration in every detail. Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭 Ps: in the swiss military museum a king tiger is being restored. They also got a v1 rocket as well as other cool stuff.

So ... amazing!!!!!!

Love the fact that you guys don't do those annoying ambush "subscription/like/buy our stuff" commercials like Bovington does. If you like a channel, you will subscribe to and like it all on your own. Bovington needs to learn that. I very much prefer your site to Bovington's; I only watch them for David Fletcher anyway. Well done on yet another excellent video, mates!
