Rob, I'm 52 years old and bought my 11 year old daughter a drum set for Christmas last year. She hasn't yet taken an interest in it. I believe she is a little intimidated by them but, I sure have. I've subscribed to your channel and have been watching your beginner videos and love them. I bought a practice pad and take it to everywhere I go and use your videos to practice. You are definitely making it interesting and fun. I've been struggling with guitar for just over 10 years and decided to dedicate myself to learning drums. Jamming with my friends, I have noticed the drummers are having way more fun! I'm all in to learning to play! Keep posting new stuff. Thanks Rob!
Beatdown is always smooth with it. I wanna be him when I grow up. Also, I feel like your shoes should be added to the list of "BEATDOWN'S KIT".

Time to add "Beatdown's Feetdowns" to the merch store!
I've been out of practice for a long long time, but I love your vids, Rob. I'm gonna start up again this weekend and try and use this routine at least on a consistent basis to recommence practice.
When I started playing in the late eighties I had one Carmine Appice book and could only dream of buying instructional video tapes. My older brother’s friend was a drummer and would teach me stuff in the short times I’d get to see him. He let me borrow the only two videos he had. Dave Weckl’s ‘the next step’ was one of ‘em. I wore. That. Tape. Out. Had to buy him a replacement copy. Hadn’t thought about it in a long while till you mentioned ‘an old Weckl tape’.
Great lesson Rob, thanks. I'm definitely adding this one to my practice routine.
Very cool. Just wish you did a tad slower for a newbie. But I catch the drift and I’m putting into my routines. Thanks so much, Rob Rob/)
This is amazing! Thanks for the tips.
People! Listen to Beatdown Brown! These exercises have changed my playing. Thanks Rob! 🥁❤️
Thanks Rob. It’s bed time here in the UK but buzzing to try these out tomor. 👌🏻
Love watching your videos!
Very informative. Cheers, Rob! ✌️🥁
Brilliant! I love tour traditional grip👍
Thanks Man I was playing around with that last week now, I’m going to add that to my regular practice drills😁👍🏻🤘🏻🥁
nice and smooth, the target ....thanks Rob
Oh Ye I’m adding this one
Thanks, Rob!
Great exercises Rob
That third one is killer! Sounds amazing, and is a great thing to shed......for hours!
Thanks for your video. I am always looking for stuff to play for 5 to 10 minutes between working on songs. This exercise seems to fit the bill!
I'm adding this to my practice routine. And I just received my hoodie today. I love the design and it's super soft :) Thanks!

That's great, man. Glad you dig it and thanks for supporting! Yes, these hoodies are pretty sweet
❤️❤️❤️ thank you
I have been playing these routines for years but never thought of marrying the two together,, very nice idea!! thanks Rob
The crash in the middle: "Why does he not hit me...does he not love me any more??? 💔" 😂 Do you ever do left-right-foot 'Bonham-style'?
You can do as vigorous of a little workout as your body and technique can handle (I'm making no personal claims whatsover here) and build groove at the same time. This is a keeper. Great stuff.
Great!!!!!
I hear Rob play then I pause just after one bar so that I can run get on the drum kit. No other YT teacher can do that to me. 👏🙏 🥁

Drilled these deep long time, many doors open, Inc flm accents, Flamuel
Hi Rob. Thanks for all your good advice. Could you say a word about sticks with nylon tip, please?
Nice
Do that with. A swing. Click track help. With tripplet. Subdivision
Hey rob - I’m gonna get started working my way through these intermediate videos. Give me some months and I’ll let you know how I go
So insert 6/8 on 4/4 counts . I done that a lot works
That intro got me😅 great ideas bro thank you for sharing
Ooohhh.. 👍
Yes! I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what to wear when I go visit my mom in prison next week. Thank you!
Rob, have practiced your techniques for 3 yrs now. Do you know steven clark? The non glamorous drummer? The bridge between your lessons and his are so good. I feel like you are so good I couldn't get it. But with him a..nd you, I have progressed soooo fast.I bounce back and forth, Love the work you guys do.Maybe you giys could work together. Thank you!

Very cool, man. Yea, Steven’s got a great channel 🙂
I mess with this kinda stuff quite a bit and I'm always surprised at how hard it is to do across multiple sound sources. So I can do it at around 90 bpm if I just pick 2 toms and a bass, but have to dial back to 75 when I start throwing it around??? I don't know if it's a flow problem or just the way I hear it goes out the window...🤔 *(Great video as usual Rob)*
Working on these drills myself, its been tough since I had cvid last year I have brain fog when I play and its frustrating getting my timing and muscle memory back in sync.
I've always played the triplets as LRF, any advantage to RLF?
It is my understanding that now is now.
dang my practice routine just changed up
Rob where the splash go?
Seems like both patterns work better with RLK, KRL
Prison visits!🤣🤣🤣
Think bout steve Gadd lol
You need a groove responsibly T-shirt. Unless I'm not seeing it.
Rob, what is the splash you were playing in this vid?

Rob are you playing these as eighth or 16th note triplets? Ta

Those are 16th note triplets.
Would you say a routine exercise is still useful when you've practiced it to the point where you know it by heart?

So you are playing them in 16th note triplets ? Thanks again
@blujay9191
Жыл бұрын
@@lorisf3882 .. Actually I think the time was 1/3 and these are not quarter notes not halves but that rarest of notes, the third note. Kidding. Actually, I got the feeling that the absence of a note value or time signature is part of the drill. More of a physical thing. At least the way he presented it IMO. That's what part of what makes this cool. Do with it whatever you like.
@lorisf3882
Жыл бұрын
Yes but he keeps it in time with a metronome so they’re not just arbitrary notes that happen to keep in time - I’m pretty sure it’s 6 notes per beat , in other words 16th note triplets ( also known as septuplets) .

Waiting for the "Rooted in Rhythm" Hoodie/Tee with the Eagle and cross-sticks. Will that be added to the merch in the future?
