Work days as a QA, learning to code, and balancing life | Work Week In My Life

Hi friends!! I'm back with a new work week in my life vlog! Today's video shows work days as a software tester, how I'm learning my first coding language (python), and trying to fit in all the other parts of life (fitness, friends, rest, etc).
I hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching!

Welcome to the dark side of QA! LOL j/k! Welcome to QA Automation! I've been in QA the past 15 years and automation the past 12 years. Wishing you the best of luck on your journey and don't hesitate to reach out if you need additional support or assistance!

Ended up doing the same...learning to code before work. Couldn't muster the brain power for that after work. I'm learning Java / Selenium. LOL, I feel your pain. "I'm really getting it...I don't know anything, I'm not so dumb after all...nope, I'm dumb. Wow, I got that quick...I can't believe I just spent 30 minutes on that!" Best thing I've done (once I learned the basics) was to follow some guides and build an api and then super simple app with model view controller pattern. Finally, I wrote automated tests for it. I mean, I guess it's the obvious thing to do, but it made everything sink in so much deeper.

I also just started learning Python for automation. It's definitely a challenge for someone like myself who has little to no interest in coding lol. My only motivation is making more money and skilling UP. Best of luck to US on this journey.

I can relate about your time balancing concerns! Having a full time job, learning, and have any type of social life seems impossible at time for me 😅. But as you mentioned just staying positive and remembering doing just a little bit of something is better than nothing seems to be the mindset that has been working the best for me!

I know exactly what you mean when you're saying you're trying to balance everything. It feels so hard some times, living a healthy life, full time work, and studying on the side. I am in the same place as you and I really relate to your video. Sometimes I also feel like I just want to be on the couch 😅 , thank you for always giving me encouragement and motivation through your videos.

Hi madeline, i’m lovely your videos. I’m learning English then sorry if i write some word wrong. I also be qa. I’m from to Brasil and in Brasil the test automation yep not common, but some enterprise are implementing. Do you learning test automation because your company have test automation or because you thought interesting? ❤

hello maam, I also want to be QA and learning now how to build programs just like you do, I suggest if you build logic then you can start to learn keyboard automation module called pyautogui from python and that is useful for automating repeated inputs using keyboards

Hi Madeline. Since you have been back working as a QA Engineer, how challenging has it been for you ? What kind of challenges you have faced so far ? Honestly speaking any kind of Testing is seriously really challenging more often than not. Testing is not really supposed to be easy , isn't it???? 😁
