I have a love/hate relationship with these videos. I love the creativity, the ideas and the easy way you explain everything. I hate them because I want to run out to the garage and start MAKING these right away, but I have orders for other stuff that needs done first! 😆

For the chalk board idea, I throw the glass away (or buy the ones with broken or missing glass) and cut out a piece of sheet metal. Put the chalkboard paint on that, and now you have a chalkboard that you can stick magnets to. Years ago, I added chalkboard sheet metal to the recessed area of some of my kitchen cabinet doors. If you use the last of the ranch dressing, you can add it to the running shopping list on the cabinet door while you are still thinking about needing to get some more.

A friend of mine had several louvered doors me was tossing & my mind saw reusable wood. I deconstructed the doors & naturally ended up with a whole lot of slats. Granted they aren't constructed to hold weight, but i think they'd work for the bottoms of the flower baskets. I try to use what I can reclaim, but still have to occasionally buy lumber. 😂

"trugs" are trough shaped baskets. it is called a trug just to emphasize that it is a basket of a specific shape which works very well for collecting long delicate objects like flowers and other garden pickings. traditionally they are made of willow in England and Ash in the US afaik.

For the double triangle shelf, i would line up the triangles, so it looks like one side of the one triangle went through the board to start the other triangle. I think this would make it more aesthetically pleasing and could make your shelf stand out better than the one from The Big Box store.

Love your videos. Especially the creative uses of cedar fence boards. I bought a 1984 Chris Craft Commander 31 foot sport fishing boat. I plan on replacing all the garnish '84 Grey carpet with cedar fence boards I run through a router table to make them tongue and groove. These will all be inside my boat. Shall I leave them raw or finish them? If finish, what finish should I use to make the cedar boards beutiful?

LOL I almost never throw any scraps out. I always find a use for them, because I build everything. The tiny scraps go for miniatures. BTW, If it makes you feel better, you can find a miniature builder who would love to have your scraps! It costs a lot of money to buy miniature pieces of wood, which are essentially just scraps of wood anyway. 😣

This might be a dumb question but at 16:02 Matt says, “If you already have yours painted or stained go ahead and apply wood glue.” I have never used wood glue AFTER painting or staining my workpieces. Does that still take hold? I would have thought the glue wouldn’t penetrate through the finish. If anyone has insight then I’d be most grateful. Thank you.

I just bought a 1 1/2hp system and I am interested in your setup. I want the best dust removal system that I can currently afford. I live in the mountains and want to see if you system might works, with some adjustments, for me. Would you send me pictures of your system? Also, since I don't know if you live in a warm area or not. By the way, I bought plans for your adjusting shelf, but I can't find it on my computer. How could I get that email again?
