I have a Minimax T124 copy lathe, with all the copy parts removed, got it very very cheap ... a better tool rest and a variable speed motor would make it ideal. A Laguna Revo 18/36 lathe would go down nicely, but not at that ludicrous price!!

I still use an old Myford ML8, "modified" with a 1 hp motor & speed-controll. I also have a Jet JWL-1221VS. And I really would have liked one of those American Robust lathes, but alas - I am a poor South African. Love your work. Kind regards.

I have a lathe left to me by my dad. It is a small Craftsman wood lathe, completely not suited to what I want to work with once I retire. I would to get one of the larger Jet lathes by the time I retire; hoping to supplement retirement with a few bowls and other projects. Thank you for the videos!

BTW...this one is really beautiful......
OMG That turned out lovely!
Ooooo Jack I'd fill that with chocolate and pop it on the kitchen Island ❤ I do love the wood grain just looks so tactile
This is by far one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever seen on you tube. Amazing.
Love it! Pedestal bowls are my fav!

Absolutely beautiful ❤❤❤
Outstanding beauty, well crafted.
I would call this work 'In the living heart of ocean'. The special grain has said it out. Thanks for your hard working.
Great work! That's what I like most: pure wood, presenting natural colours and grain, nothing else. Wish I could make something like that myself....
Absolutely stunning!!!
Cool. Very warm look to the grain. I have a wood lathe and a metal lathe. I got them from my grandfather. They are quite old. They are both bench top units AND use a leather belt to spin. They have 3 speeds and all you do is slip the belt to a different sized spindle. My grandfather would use a screwdriver to flip the belt and do it while it was turning; not me. I haven't used them in years. Glad I have you to watch.
I really love your work.
So So beautiful! Thanks for sharing ☺
I just upgraded to a Oneway 2416. It is all the lathe I could ever have hoped for.
Love it ,beautiful grain🎉❤
Jack, I enjoy the color contrast, this is a very satisfying visual piece.
I don't know if we have much yew to speak of here in the states, but it looks really similar to black locust. I wonder if the two species are related. Beautiful piece as usual!
Magnificent piece! Was that “table top” epoxy?
Beautiful. 👏👏🇦🇺
Omg this is absolutely gorgeous ❤ WOW!
Absolutely Stunning!
love and peace
Beautiful design. 👍👍
I'm very Impressed and I would Say Truly a Museum Quality Piece of Fine Wood Working Art. Sincerely Yours 🤠 Mr Severance, "The Cake 😋 🍰🎂 🥳🎉 🎊 Man".
Wow! Yew are so nice, why i cant got this here ? 😂
Very nice piece. The design is very pleasing to the eye. A couple of times I thought that is the base was going to be the neck and top. Then you reversed it. Great job. The finish is fantastic as well. Am I correct to assume the insides is sanded and finished like the outside?
My favorite kind of piece..... simple elegant lines & outstanding woodgrain!! 🥰
That wood grain is stunning! It was like finding a hidden treasure! 😂
Beautiful piece.
Love the grain
Time to crank up my old trusty Harbor Freight lathe.

Beautiful Peace, but i didnt see inside the bowl ..

Beuteful... The grain is outstanding, I don't normally comment but I you did the wood justice.
what a fabulous piece of wood and what a wonderful job you did on it....I love it
Very, very nice ❤
I’m addicted
I like that it's the shape of a punchbowl. Even though it won't be used as such, it's a different shape to see turned.

A very nice work of art sir. Stunning piece. Thanks for sharing you post with us.🌿 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hidden beauty ❤
Beautiful piece. Yew is probably my favourite wood. Never fails to be spectacular.
That is beautiful
Thanks 👍
I have a belt driven 30 year old craftsman. Love to have the new jet variable speed. Beautiful piece by the way. Hickory?
It’s always amazing to me what’s lurking inside a wood blank, beautiful
I liked the mat finish.
So beautiful!!! Gorgeous shine. Outstanding work!
Just love the idea of burning the wood to create a black edge. Clever! Beautiful piece!
My gosh...so beautiful 😍
I hit the thumbs up button before i watched the video, just based on the thumbnail pic! That wood MUST be gorgeous inside!!!😊😊
❤That's a stunning work of art❤
Stunning work as always :)
Jolie travail Jack bravo 👍👏
Great shape! Small question... Why do you use resin (I guess?) instead of varnish?
Absolutely beautiful! What a lovely piece of wood. And the design was spot on 👍
A truly beautiful and big piece of Yew ... I've not worked up the courage to try burning the wood yet, but every time I see it done it looks amazing ... It looked like an awful lot of hollowing, but worth it in the end! What a fantastic result and I especially liked the resin, it really made the grain come alive👍
I like your style choices.
Beautiful 😊
Such a beautiful piece!🎉
Yew got me at yew. 😃 Did you get a "war wound" on one of your knuckles?🤔
Another masterpiece Jack. Truly beautiful piece and the burning adds a nice touch as well. Thanks for this.
Beautiful piece of yew Jack, nicely done. My lathe at slowest rpm to rotate and let epoxy dry gets the motor pretty warm for the length of time it takes to dry! Suggestions? Thanks as always.

Maybe rig a small slow motor to the spindle of the lathe with a pulley.. mount motor on a piece of ply and clamp to the bedways with a pulley lashed over the business end of the spindle or around your chuck. Sure you could get a fairly cheap slow running motor online no problem
