    You had me guessing what it was, right till you put the series of holes in. Then I knew it was a wind instrument, but not which type. That, I had no idea of, till I saw it played, as I couldn't figure out what the knob was for. It is a lovely instrument! What a gift to be able to "make" music!

    At the beginning of 'turning', I figured COOL, 20 more and you have a really nice banister/railing in the making, then I thought it was the handle for a custom Pool Cue, I did not see the recorder, SURPRISE! Beautiful! Not like the one I learned to play in school :)

    Full length 12 feet? 3 instruments over lap in staff of holding. Can hold more than you think.

    Had a hunch what you were making, but wasn't sure until you drilled the perpendicular holes. Appreciated the close-up views of your skew technique.

    @@JackMackWoodturning probably not. My skill level isn't quite up to flute standard yet. But I think the variety of woods in rail spindles could add a bit of interest to the rooms.

    @JackMackWoodturning No. I have always been back and forth, originally from Utah. Family in both states. Love the mountains and coming home but my current girlfriend lives in Florida. We reconnected from High school so this is home for now. Been watching your videos for a while so I am sure I watched some in Utah. Lived there for 3 years around covid when I lost my job in FL and now been back for a little over a year. Never been in one place long enough to build up a shop but I enjoy your videos and other wood workers so much I would love to get into the hobby one day.

    @@JackMackWoodturning yes, i have a cheep set that i play, i just retired and it gives me something to do lol, it's hard to find a set that are really beautiful, all the set's i have looked at are all really cheep looking, you can get bongo hardware sets on amazon 👍🏆.

    I have some Pearl Congas at home that I have a little tap on from time to time. I most absolutely wan’t to try and make some sort of drum/s. The huge vase I made recently would of had a great sound if I mounted a skin on it. 😁👍🏻

    Not at present as I turn maple burl . A bit hard with the grain direction changes. I prefer a 5/8 long grind or the 40.

    That would lead to two hold that don’t meet in the centre mate. I have the “boring” equipment to drill straight long holes but the bore is only 10mm in this instance the bore needed to be 14mm. The reason the spindle was kept so wide was to allow for the inevitable drift of the bit through the piece giving a uninterrupted hole through the centre, which is important to get the right note.     Visuellement sublime cette flûte, par contre la méthode pour l'embouchure et les trous de jeu c'est un massacre dommage.. Je conseille de faire des prototypes dans des matériaux low-cost pour se faire la main, généralement on en jette quelques unes avant de sortir un truc qui sonne convenablement (même un vulgaire tube pvc, très bien pour commencer à se familiariser avec les dimensions de l'instrument) J'suis dispo pour tout conseil ou renseignement au cas où tu voudrais réitèrer

    Hi Joey. Thanks for the feedback. This was the first time I have crafted a flute and it was made to the specifications of a client.. He was happy with it. If I decide to produce another in the future there are certainly some steps I would handle differently second time round. Thanks for watching 😁👍🏻
