Woodturning - Burl to Vase
Here I turn a Burl from a Horse Chestnut tree into a natural edge Vase .. I cleaned out some punky areas and filled with epoxy resin coloured with antique silver mica powder and finished it with Osmo Oil ..

The beauty of KZread is finding new channels like this. Being an it guy it is just wonderful to see someone making something truly beautiful with his hands.
Andy, I can watch your wood-turning all day ,which is even better when you use resins !! Keep them coming!!

Who ever would have thought that beautiful piece was hiding in a piece of fire wood. Thank you Andy.👍👍👍👍👍😎
Not gonna lie I’m incredibly anxious that thing is gonna fly off until it reaches a certain point. It is beautiful.
It's amazing how just a small amount of resin can bring out the beauty in a finished piece
Burl has fantastic grain patterns!
The amazing thing is that you can see a beautiful vase when looking at a “lump” of wood. Great job.
"Hey guys, what's up? So today we're gonna go right ahead and ...." Your videos are always great to watch
Sometimes you turn something very special........a keeper.....this is one of those times.🇨🇦
When the camera is sped up, the burl looks like it rotates in the opposite direction. Kinda kewl!
Beautiful vase, Andy. The grain, spalting, filler, natural edge and burning all came together perfectly.

The thing i appreciate the most about watching long videos is when the woodworker takes the time to show the finished product from multiple angles, so thank you for doing just that.....
Oh my god... this is my favourite by far. It is simply perfect. I really love everything about this vase: the proportions, the colour of the wood, its grain, the finished surface... adding flowers to this Vase would definitely decrease its pure beauty!
This is the hobby I never knew I wanted, it looks like fun. The vase is beautiful!
Absolutely gorgeous work! This turned out to be a masterpiece; the live edges burnt brought this piece of art up a few notches. The beautiful blue resin placed in some of the deepest cracks and holes was a stunning move on your part! Great job!!

I absolutely love the natural edge you left on and the color of the wood grain. The blue you added didn’t pop as much as I expected until it hit the light but it almost makes it like a hidden treasure to the piece. Beautiful as always 😁

Just lovely. I watch at least one of your work videos every day!
When I'm stressed about something, I watch one of your videos and everything is zen after that ;)
GORGEOUS!
I love the optical illusion of the tool when you are working on a section with a large chunk or wood missing. It's fascinating. And the darker blue color against this wood is very nice. 💙

Love the natural form. It is a tribute to nature and the way the wood evolved over time. To be able to see this beauty in that chunk of wood is truly a gift.

As always... absolutely amazing work!
It was really cool when you started working the inside of the vase at 5:35. The top of the vase was transparent. It looked as if you were cutting invisible wood!!
Great job Andy came out beautiful!,
Awesome as always.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
You, sir, are an artist!

Wow!! So amazing!
beautiful vase. Perfect color.
Excellent turning!
Andy the grain and spalting in this vase is breathtakingly beautiful. It is an amazing and stunning vase.
Love the spalting lines on this one. Looks like an antique map. The beginning where you made a spot for the live center with the forstner bit was genius. I've been trying to figure out a way of doing that with my lathe that has a simple tail stock, no taper just dead center.
A fine work Andy!
It's wonderful. It feels like an inner transformation. A gentle but firm chipping away of whats not needed in Ones life. Only magnified, raw beauty is left behind. A suggestion: Instead of still frames, it would be awesome if you built a small turn style display to rotate the finished pieces in the videos.
