Woodturning - 3D Cube Illusion

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

After making a segmented cutting board for a friend I decided to complete another woodturning project by gluing together the left over pieces and make a 3D Cube illusion segmented plate.
The initial part is the cutting for the cutting board. I ended up cutting way more pieces than I need. I ended up with 2 plates and a cutting board. After undertaking segmented turning, it might be a long while before I do it again. It's very tedious.
I left the music out this time. It was on the advice of a fellow KZreadr. What do you think. Do you miss music? Leave a comment.
*Notice: My techniques are my own, do not copy anything I do simply because you saw it here. I am also learning and advancing my skill level and make mistakes. Read all warnings and recommendations and if in doubt seek professional instruction before engaging in this activity.

Que inexperienced woodworkers yelling about not having anti-kickback and a guard in your tablesaw. *Eyeroll That looks amazing, good work my dude.

Thanks a lot! Yeah, I get a few safety comments here and there. I just try and keep important stuff away from sharp stuff!!!

the part that scared me was about 0:41 seconds into the video where he was cutting the small pieces and letting them gather between the spinning blade and the fence. I have made segmented bowls and sometimes the pieces catch an edge of the blade and when that happens it is like a rifle blast and the piece turns into a projectile.

Golly, every time I saw it flat, a nagging question kept popping up - How will he cope when he starts cutting those pointy bumps ? Good thing the lathe spun them flat😁 Great 3D effect 👍🎨 Thanks for taking the time to do and show us🙏

Yeah, a couple people didn't like the music, and no one has complained about no music. So I think I'll keep it this way for a while.
