Thanks ๐ Definitely an improvement to the mill ๐ thanks for checking out my new video!
Loved the video Mike. And so glad you have been spending Family time ๐. I have so enjoyed watching this video. I get all my ruff cut from the Amish. I love ruff cut and then planing it when needed. Itโs beautiful!! The guys who make this saw mill should be contacting you on how to improve their saw โฆ.. you always have some of the best ideas on improving things that need it. Thanks for the video Tammy and I really enjoyed seeing you again ๐

Hey thanks for the video, One hung you might consider is raising your mill on runners and blocking to just below waist height, this way you donโt have to bend over as much.
You talking about taking time off of social media and being with family really resonates with me. Social media can be a blessing with it's possibilities but it's also a burden on one's mind if not consumed with caution. Family is most important indeed. And minibikes. ๐ Take care, Mike.๐

Thanks Donn! I appreciate it man, yes this spring and summer I have been spending a lot of time with my kids and close friends ๐ I definitely slowed down on YT these days. I still plan on making content but I couldnโt keep the pace of a new video every other Friday, I did that for over 3 years and itโs been a bit overwhelming for me. Iโm going back to sharing topics and projects Iโm interested In but I probably wonโt be chasing the YT algorithm anymore, they just keep changing the goal post and Iโm not going to make the ( Shorts ) vertical format like they want everyone to make. Take care Donn and thanks for checking out my videos ๐๐
@DonnDIY

I feel the same - to quote the classics: "We're too old for this s**t!" ๐ I've tried the occasional short-attention-span short video but the revenue is 100x less than on a regular video (not wanting to sound greedy but the bills need to be paid and I'm always looking a great R.O.I.). And it aggravates subscribers - I've been mostly losing subscribers over shorts (analytics don't lie) so what's the point... You do you man, I have your channel notifications on and I'll be here watching once you post again. Stay healthy!๐ค
Good job Mike, nice to see you again

Excellent.... This is what I was looking for! Everything about my mill I love except the clamp! The lower cuts want to roll the timber over (because of no leverage as you said) love this idea ๐ก sir! I had to take the same break from filming... It's super easy to burn out! Love your videos

Thanks man ๐ Iโm starting to get back into making videos again, the break was really nice. Should have some mini truck content fairly soon as well ๐
Great vid, Mike. At work we peel a lot of logs (for play equipment, mostly sweet chestnut and ash) and have tried lots of different methods. The best we've found is a 3-blade disc peeler for a 9" grinder, very quick and clean (does clog with oak though). I've also had very good results using a powerful pressure washer to remove bark on larch. Keep up the good work, cheers.
Looks good Mike! Good info on the blunt screw on the log clamp
Enjoyed the video! That quarter sawn lumber is going to make some nice looking flooring for your cabin. I hope to see it in a future video! Enjoy your break.....we will be here when you return!

Awesome, thank you!
Thanks Mike! I'm interested in that debarking tool.
Mike, could you make a permanent electric debarker that goes in front of the blade? Other companies include this as standard equipment. You could use one of those angle grinder cutters for carving, and have a depth wheel to help keep it from gouging the log.
@Mikefestiva
ะัะป ะฑาฑััะฝ
Definitely worth looking into. Possibly something for my bigger mill. ๐๐ Thanks for checking out my new video and the suggestion.

Mike, I appreciate anything you post. It is always good to get a video from you, but family comes first. Question, do you reuse your scrap sawdust and lumber? A video on that would be interesting.
@Mikefestiva
ะัะป ะฑาฑััะฝ
Thanks for always checking out my videos ๐ Good suggestion! I have been planning a video this summer on projects to do with all the scraps from the mill. I Definitely use the sawdust, especially the Hemlock and Fir, I put it around my fruit trees and raspberries for mulch ๐๐
Great to see a new video Mike. One question, if you flipped the offset on the bottom tube of your log clamp, wouldn't gain another 3/4" or so of capacity?
Might wanna ask Wile E Coyote about ACME stuff..js..๐ bleep bleep,zoinggggg
I look forward to seeing your excavator video, I am looking at getting a Japanese used export machine roughly 1.5 ton or smaller for residential work.
@Mikefestiva
ะัะป ะฑาฑััะฝ
Right on ๐ Iโm probably a few weeks from finishing up the video ๐ I think you would really like a small excavator, so useful.
That screw with the long handle is the biggest bug in this mill. Trying to hold the log square with that one point of contact is difficult and time consuming. Some have suggested using a floor jack. As it stands, I couldn't use my floor jack. I use a bunch of shims and wedges and I still get out of square. I want to rig something like a pipe clamp across the bottom to hold the log square.
Would you have any recommendations on cut feeds/speeds for cutting 3/8" inch steel on a crossfire cnc plasma cutter
Hello Mike does quarter sawing make your lumber more stable less cuping as it dryes.
I also donโt really like the clamps on the woodland mills. I just ran one for the first time the other day,
When you run your cnc plasma what do you keep the air pressure at because I have a cnc plasma and I can't get the air pressure right if could help I would appreciate it. Thanks
@Mikefestiva
ะัะป ะฑาฑััะฝ
Well it definitely depends on the plasma cutter, my titanium 45 only will run at 90 PSI my Hynade has the air pressure auto set. My Arcfony pro I set around 50 PSI. Hope that helps.
You really went out on a limb,and left us danging for a bit Mike.Thought you were branching out into taky-tics,or such yuks. I know it's a bit punky of me to cut up like this,but I'm all spruced up with nowhere to go.I'm not glossing over your efforts.I may've nailed a couple poor puns.Nuff of that.Hope you at least smiled.I'm rung out.
๐๐๐คMike!
Any plans to make an auto feed for it?
@Mikefestiva
ะัะป ะฑาฑััะฝ
I have the auto feed on my bigger mill, I probably wouldnโt set this one up for auto feed just so it stays simple for more portability. Thanks for checking out my new video ๐
Those boards ard not quarter sawn. You just cut it into quarters then plain sawed them. For quarte saw, you need to rotate each quarter segment 45 degrees from a flat side.
@Mikefestiva
ะัะป ะฑาฑััะฝ
Well I cut it the way many people call 1/4 sawing, I got vertical grain so I got exactly what I was going for. Please post a video of this if you can do it the proper way. ๐
Hi i'm interested where can i Buy one?
