I can't tell you how many times I have come back and watched this video to get help with a project. There is so much valuable information packed into this video! The final product is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skill! Hope you are doing well.
Marie, it’s so refreshing to see a video that doesn’t have annoying music playing. Love the build too!

And no power tool noises 😂😂😂
I love how you say pilot hole instead of the stupid "pre-drilling" most people use! Cheers Marie.
Really appreciate that you get right to it w/ great explanation (& no annoying music). Thx for sharing!
I like the method you used for attaching the bearing to both the bottom and the top. Your method is, in my opinion, the most sensible way of going about attaching the hardware. I bought a lazy susan a while ago and that is exactly how they attached the bearing. Nice build with the chopping board top, that was a nice touch.

Thanks! Glad to know I guessed the right way of doing it :)
Great video. Marvelous job on Lazy Susan. When I was in high school long before you were born. girls were not allowed to take up woodshop but boys could take up homemaking. I wanted take woodshop but I could not. It is nice to see lady(s) on you tube doing wood shopping. You go ladies
Excellent video, perfect sequencing, and thanks for pointing out where to attach to base, small holes in plate.
Thank you! I had to make a new base and change the hardware for one I bought and this was very helpful.
Very nice combination of wood. I like the fact that you are willing to say, Oops, and share it. We all goof up occasionally, but some KZreadrs seem to never make a mistake. Thanks for the tip on centering on a circle.

Just trying to keep it real! I almost cut it out just to shorten the video, but figured someone else would likely make the same mistake so figured it might be useful.
Great project Marie! The color and pattern of this Lazy Susan is perfect! Great tip on the circle jig as well! Thanks!

Thanks Casey! That was the first time I cut a circle and now I want to make all sorts of round stuff!
Wow, great job making this one for my Daughter.Thank you for sharing..
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
Beautiful color and pattern on the lazy susan. When I make a lazy susan I router out the backside of the top board to a diameter 1/4" bigger than the bottom board and to a depth equal to the thickness of the bottom board. That gives it an effective look of hovering above the table by the thickness of the bearing.

Great idea! That would give it a really low profile and would hover like magic.
That was nice and simply explained. Thanks!
Wood work at it's best ! So satisfying 🤩
Wonderful job, looks great!
Just gorgeous, and an inspirational video! Boy do I wish that KZread would have been around 30 years ago...I think I would have loved doing this for a living ;)

Wonderful project: you explain all the steps very well, and demonstrate it so its easy to follow and do for oneself. The colours of the wood came out beautifully. Going to make my first one now!. Keep up the good work. (Btw when I was in primary school, my dad had a lovely round table made for us, with a lazy Susan on top, as well as 9 chairs. I've inherited it early, and will be moving it to my house soon. The lazy Susan brings back fond memories).

When I saw you passing the two parts over the jointer I remembered a trick I have recently learnt: pass both halves over the jointer at the same time, after „folding“ them up like closing a book (the sides to be jointed are like the spine of the book). That way the assembled board is guaranteed to be flat, even if the fence of the jointer happened to be set slightly off 90 degrees. You can even extend this technique to deliberately use odd angles and still come up with prfectly flat glue-ups.

very nice! You make it look so easy! Any chance you've ever made a puzzle lazy susan? It has edges on it so the puzzle pieces don't fall off.
Question: Will the mineral oil "bleed" out if a hot pan/pot is placed on the wood? Thanks so much for the excellent presentation!
I do not have a lazy Susan, but I do have a swivelling stool ;)
Such precise work, you have great skills. Thanks for posting this video, though in our house, we call it a Lazy Mark. I thought, "Hey, why does Susan always get the blame?".

Great Video. I just made one out of a wine box top and it came out great. Only problem was that I used the Lazy susan mechanical part from an old tv stand that had the lazy susan mechanism to turn the TV. It is so noisy that it is not good for a dinner table. I have been trying to find a more quiet one but the ones that I find at the big box stores are just as loud. Can you tell me the brand name of the mechanism that you used. I did not think that it sounded loud in your video.
Enjoyed the production and as has been said the lack of music was a plus, however I sure do worry about the way you use the cut off saw.
