Thank you, I had seen that original minimum years ago and liked it. I saw the Flyped and went from there and built this from scratch. This video was the 3rd flight. I have since lengthened the tubes 5" going to the harness to correct the thrust angle to be more parallel with air flow and lowered my hang point. Testing props now. I am very pleased with the unit.

Nice job! Is this something you designed? I'm working on a project to install an electric motor on my glider and would be interested in the component details: batteries, controller, motor, prop manufacturer and diameter.
@onedoodadyoung
2 жыл бұрын
Hello Rick, The design comes from Europe I think I first saw this setup In the late 70s. and it was called a Minimum system. I just made my own version of it for electric. It is made up of very large RC equipment. the motor is an out runner with 95 KV on 16s or 67 volts fully charged it is rated at 8000 watts output. I am running 110 to 120 amps at 67 volts or 8040 watts. I have a 2.5 to 1 cog belt reduction drive giving my prop 2546 rpm. but it tacks at around 2200 with a 51x26 prop. So far it has worked the best giving a climb rate of around 200'/m. I am making a 52x30 to see if I can improve speed a little. I am climbing best around 20 to 21 mph. The batteries are 4s cells 14.2v at 8000ma, x 4 series =67v x 3 parallels gives me 24AH. I used 6600ma in 10 min at full power and climbed to 1200 in lift and sink. My set up is working and it is not the top of the line my any means, but the paraglider folks are making good power systems and there are lots of things coming along in Eruope. My ESC is 300amp 16s Alian brand but not good service. The Motor is called Watts Big and is out of business. The speed controller is a RC servo tester. If you google Radar Bernstein his ehelp videos shows epower setups and how it all works. If I can help you in any way that I can I will be clad to. If you want to call me Message me and I will give you my #. I carve my own folding props and it comes in handy trying to get the most out on the motor. I hope this helps. Danny
