Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

1 tool woodturning project. This wood turning project was turned with just a 1/2 bowl gouge. Watch how it was done. This video is to show you don't need a lot of tools for woodturning. This was turned from 1/2 of a cedar log. I finished it with friction polish.

The video cut from the turned inside to the already grinded piece was a little (see the dust on the machine) was a little irretating. But I really love the finished piece! Thumbs upp 😊

Looks great! I'm just about to start getting into some basic bowl turning. How did you dry/store the piece of log before you were ready to turn it? Still trying to learn some of the intricacies of cutting from a log and prepping it for use. Did you even bother drying it knowing it would be a live edge bowl and therefore not caring about warping? Thanks! I've been enjoying watching you make things with simple logs!

This was dry when I found it. I just split in half where the crack was. When you have wet wood you want to seal the end grain right after you cut it. I use an electric skillet and melt wax, then dip the end of the wood in it. Some people also just paint the end with house paint.
