I am turning my first vase right now. This video was very helpful. I am curious about parting the tenon off. Thanks for sharing this.

You are so welcome!
A genuine masterpiece! You should start selling these beauties! ✌🏽
Thank you very much Roger, I've learned something new in vase turning
Pro tip, if you sharpen the skew occasionally, then it will actually cut instead of burning the wood.
I loved this video, I want to learn this, I’ve been a bench jeweler for 35 years, you are a good instructor!

Thank you so much!
Heard the farm in the background so many times before, that rooster this morning though... I couldn't stop laughing.
Wonderfull, Gold hands and a great pesion to teach. All the best to you dear Roger from Moshe in israel that learn from you a lot.
Enjoy your video. You explain yourself very well. Love the finish touch. I will try to apply myself on this project. Could you please tell me what size the lumber is? To me it looks like it is 4x4x12 inch. Thank-you. Waiting for your reply. Again, nice work. I wil be watching more of your videos

BEGINNER & LEARNED A FEW NEW THINGS. USING A SKEW WOULD ALSO GET YOUR LINES AS WELL AS USING WIRE TO DARKEN TO YOUR PREFERENCE
Wow emazing video
Lovely
Roger, that's a hell of a trick using the parting tool to create the burn marks. I'll definitely be trying that on a scrap piece to see if I can get it to work right.

wire works great for that too

We are taking lessons, and our instructor told us to use scraps of linoleum

@@sharonparsons3757 I've only within the past few months been able to use the parting tool like Roger does in the video. I was using Formica samples from Lowe's for the longest and still do depending on the width of the burn marks I'm seeking.
Nice one
Hi Roger, nice piece of work. I am a beginner. Can you please tell me what kind of polish/wax you use for that nice shine?
Love the video. Will be trying it myself soon. In your section under the video, it is the same advertising for your pens and disclaimer. Would like to see what tools you use, what finish you used, what speed you drilled the hole, etc. It is supposed to be a tutorial and this information would be helpful. I also had a short section that was sped up and I couldn't understand you. Don't know if it was just me. Thanks for the video though, it was helpful. And yes, adding music is not a choice I would make.
nice tutor vid...you could lose the music, though ha ha
Beautiful Work. I am wondering what you used for a finish ?

What time of day did you do this video? Early AM? That rooster of yours just wouldn't shut up. Like Frostera said, I couldn't stop laughing. Now, although I've seen a lot of your turning videos, I have a beginners question. How does a tapered shaft , slid into a tapered receiver, when a straight shaft into a straight receiver wouldn't. I love the design , Roger. It's very elegant, but simple enough for a beginner to do.
How long does it take you to make one of these?
Nice job. I did not like the background music, just my taste.
Music is too loud, I can't hear when you talk ! ! !
stop the music
