Hi, could you please tell me what to do with my phone. I had the phone for 1-10 years and it has no water damage. About 4 years ago it randomly stopped working. I found it today and charged it, when I try and turn it on it goes to the lock screen for 1 second and goes back to the battery screen. It obviously has some power but there's some sort of glitch with it. It's a Samsung S4 mini and I really want to use it again.

I never lft my phone used but as am using its start going off and on but later went totally off but I tried your procedure today and everything went through as am seeing on your experience. Thank you so much for your help.

i had exactly the same problem as this. i worked out that the power button was shorting (stuck on) with a multi meter. rather than replace the main board i cut the power button off and used a paper clip to turn it on. i installed an app to lock the screen after that. one day i may get around to soldering a new one back on.

still have this problem, walking into town msging someone then caput, everything crashed and shutdown, i reboot phone came to boot menu, facotry reset, wiped cache (as i had to) it tried to boot then restarted, got a red galaxy s4 logo instead of usualy white, screen went complete red then got this problem, wont turn on, wont charge, nothing, and iv done all the steps in the video plus more.

I just tried your solution and it's worked for me. Thanks for the help though.

i can't evet get recovery mode :( it just says booting recovery and reboots again.

So I was able to turn my phone on and use it this morning and then I left it on in my pocket while I was at school. At the end of the day i got my phone and tried to play music. It let me until I went onto Snapchat and took a picture. It immidently went off. I tried to turn it on and it took a couple minutes. When it turned on it was fine. Then seconds later it would show the Samsung Galaxy s5 active when you boot it up then turn off again.it kept doing this until I gave up (flashing the Samsung s5 boot up over and over and over). I even tried to take out the battery and put it back in, turn it on, but it still flashed. When I got home I plugged it in and it was at 81% so I let it charge till 100. Then I unplugged it and it immediately turned off. I tried to turn it back on but it kept flashing over and over. I am unable to use my phone unless it is plugged in now. Do I need to factory reset? This happened before and I got a new battery and that seemed to fix the problem until today it seemed to just "come back". What do I do? Help! Do I get a new battery, charging port, new phone, or just a factory reset?

My Samsung s4 won’t work it boots normally but when I swipe up with my finger and it shuts down black EDIT:A min ago it let me in but then shut down

download odin and downkoad repair firmware and put the phone in download mode plug it in the pc or laptops and press start in odin and it will start the process but everything would be erased in the phone

I have a Samsung N4 only one year old and I have the same problem !!! I like this phone but I see that I will be forced to buy another brand of phone because I'm tired of it already have enough antics samsung! last week began to freeze and turn off! I removed batteries for minute and I put the batteries back. Phone starts work normally but as soon as I plugged charger froze over again! all samsung phones have the same problem! no matter what model! What spoiling these phones and tablets? What is the cause of the problem? I suspect that They have a faulty charging system !

In my case when I take out the battery and put it again and turn the phone on..it shows me the logo and then turns black or u can say it turns off...the if i take out the battery again and put it,again the same problem..Donno what to do

@@remabutik5191 I think I found the solution..I think it is the power button..When I press it I think it gets stuck which creates all the problems..I haven't touch the power button for a while and it's working perfect..Btw tnx for the suggestion

download new repair firmware with odin

charge it when it turns on, go to recovery mode and do hard reset. If dosen't work unlock bootloader.

I thought I was fucked but the factory reset functioned. thanks!!!! My mom was about to kill me again xdxdxdxx

i had the exact problem as the video above... and went through the ic video.. thought it bricked already... then I saw yours... tried exactly as mentioned... but i tried to clean the power button a bit... press the power+volume up + home.. and wallah.. suddenly got that reset screen.. (that is the best achievement i've had!!!!) and decided to wipe everything.. now all back on.. and smiling again... :) thank you bro

I am stuck like u with s4mini

In my case, the power button was stucked. I just lightly smacked it over and over until I was able to boot the phone. I hope this works for you as it worked in my case.

Well at first I thought I was fucked but what I did was taken out the battery then took every sim card/memory card out. I put the battery back in and pressed down the home botton/down volume/ and power botton/ your going to get a message saying "press volume up to continue" and "press down to cancel" so what u do is press volume down botton and the phone turns off and reset normal and that's when u put ur sim/memory card.

I have this same problem with my s4

My problem was the power buton. i knoked the phone on the corner of the table ...not right on the buton ...just near and that was it. with the first ocasion I'll open the phone and clean with alcohol the buton area inside :-) becouse semetimes the buton is staking again. least i know what's the problem. i installed a app from Google play ...power off app to not use the power buton so often to lock the phone.

Listen to me on this try it... 1st Face a hair dryer facing back of the phone on the Cpu bout half a feat. 2nd before turning on the hair dryer connect the charger than only on the hair dryer than only try to start it up. I know I am using the word than 2 times............... Let me know if it works alot and tell me how old is the phone......

I rooted my s4 and changed the sdk to 25. Worst thing to ever do now it boots up but it just shows samsung until the battery dies... fml
