My name is William Mulligan AKA The Everyday Stoic, I applied Stoicism in my life and went from being anxious and feeling like a victim to becoming a confident and happy man. I am 1/3 of the Mulligan Brothers and my goal is to inspire change through teaching Stoicism to the everyday person.
I will give you an easy, practical guide to understanding Stoicism and how to use it in your life.
On this channel I answer the questions of "What is Stoicism?", "Who was Marcus Aurelius?", "How to be a stoic?" or "How to practice stoicism in daily life?" Check out my channel to learn how to be happier, stronger and more confident.
Two thousand years ago, the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius wrote his personal thoughts in a journal now known as the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius. Many of these Stoic principles have be learned from the Meditations but also from Epictetus, Seneca, Zeno and many more of the Ancient Stoic philosophers.
I get asked a lot what
1. Stoic books to read
2. if you can be religious and Stoic
3. can woman/girls be stoic
4. is stoicism bad
5. is stoicism toxic
6. can stoicism help anxiety or depression
1. Enchiridion of Epictetus, meditations of Marcus Aurelius, Seneca letters on ethics
2. You can be religious and Stoic
3. Woman/girls can be stoic
4. Stoicism is not bad. Vice alone is bad.
5. Stoicism understood correctly is not toxic
6. Stoicism can help depression and anxiety.

This is what happens when sweeping generalizations are applied. Bias is an emotional response; not a rational one. Not all women are over-emotional. Not all men are in control of their own emotions. Seeing each person for what they display, without bias, is the start of true objectivity. It's not possible to dehumanize the whole of the opposite sex (by ignoring their individuality) and be objective or rational at the same time. It's called all-or-nothing thinking, or critical theory. And it's both harmful and cyclical in nature.

Hi William. I read your book recently and really enjoyed it. It's a well structured and easy to read book. The simple style of writing and your relatability to a lot of people is what I like most about your teachings of Stoicism. I've enjoyed watching your videos over the last year or so and really enjoyed the book. All the best with what you continue to do.

I know a woman in particular who was explaining her outlook on life. Just through needing to overcome various obstacles, her life advice was as though it came from the mouth of Marcus I. Anyone who faces and overcomes adversity will be led to these conclusions.

As a woman, I became a stoic after seeing a photo of a statue of Marcus Aurelius and falling in love with his pretty face( 100% emotional)😅 3 years later my whole life has changed, I'm so stable and strong compared to my younger self that it's unbelievable. So, emotional or not, women can be stoics

You endure 9 months of increasing weight, back pain and nausea daily then push out a baby then tell me how "stoic" women can't be....

Yeah women of old. Definitely not the modern day garbage we have today. You are speaking of a totally different woman from 1000 years ago. There is no comparison to this o-fan, insta-slore world we live in.
