WOMD 107 l ODD WATCHES-1968 ROLLIE GMT 🔥🌺 with Faded Fuchsia Bezel & A Rubber Bezel Courtesy of AP
New Grey Market Episode: "My Plan to CRUSH $130 Million in Sales in 2024"
• How I'm Going to Sell ... -~-
In this episode we return to looking into more "Investment Worthy" pieces from both Rolex and AP but first allow us to discuss who really holds the throne here and also, a little history lesson. 😉 Rolex has been king for decades now and vintage Rolex watches are a special breed of their own. When it came to the release of the 1968 Vintage Rolex GMT-Master, it manifested with a Faded Fuchsia Bezel. But why did the brand decide to TICKLE US PINK, especially considering that luxury watches are usually much more popular among men? Was this intentional for sake of unexpected variety or was it a mistake?

In certain cases, what's made these luxury watches stand out is something as simple as human error like the watch I'll be presenting today in Episode 107 of WOMD (What's On My Desk). Older releases aren't just popular as a result of good design and limited availability, and while that's usually the case, sometimes it's a result of how odd and RARE these watches can be and the stages they've been victim to.
History truly is ODD though. When reading into the details, it's been discovered that in 1918, pink was decided to be a "stronger color" considered "more suitable" for boys and for men. I bet that's a fact you weren't aware of unless a lady friend has educated your otherwise. In the 1950's however, the societal perspective shifted to it being seen as more apt for both girls and ladies. To this day, pink is SO highly marketed towards women, it appears to be a color most can rarely escape.

What else will you find here today? A wonderful execution of Audemars Piguet blending rose gold with black color aesthetic but peculiarly enough.. on a rubber BEZEL (of all things). You'll also witness an Ali Bin Ali Royal Oak Offshore, proof of the further impressive and highly complex creations Rolex is capable of when collaborating with an authoritative brand.

I searched a long time for that WG Daytona, 20-30 dealers around Europe. They all said, they don´t get that many watches and there is a waiting list for them. But finally a dealer I called had in it in the store and I picked it up!! It´s amazing!!! Sporty and modern. Ceramic bezel with the oysterflex makes it very durable so I wear it almost to often. You forget that it is a 30 000 dollar watch!!
I think I’m in love! That AP Royal Oak offshore in the red strap is one of the most beautifull watches I have ever seen! Thank you so much for sharing this with us Roman! Without you most of us would never have the chance of admiring this watches!
Thanks for the awesome video Roman! We all needed some watch content from a watch guy! It’s been a weird week of watch guys talking about each other. Thanks for keeping it real.
Very impressive video. Loving the vintage GMT lesson!!!! And the mixture of my fave two brands Rolex and AP. I have a new love for vintage so please do more.
Roman, I have now watched every one of your videos over lockdown they are great ,you and your team are so down to earth and the content is always fun ,and you always cover all brands witch people never see,
Roman, your video is like a ray of sunshine in this ef-ed up week, at least something to take my mind of the current events. Best regards to you and your family, Sergey
I actually love each one of these Time Pieces. Beautiful, timeless craftsmanship. Great Vid for sure Bro.
Great video. Loved the insights on nearly new and vintage. The fuscia dial looks 🔥
Great episode Roman, love the vintage Rolex watch’s you have been showing lately.
Two of my favorite watches... Rocking the Blue SkyDweller & that exact Daytona on the oysterflex....love it man! Total Pimp watches!!
Agree with you that WG Daytona is killer....and on the rubber strap would be perfect for me. I personally would not go for a WG bracelet too heavy...but as you say each to their own. Thanks for the content! Bring on the new studio.
Good work Roman !!!! Keep it up, I love the videos (old & new) 👊
AWESOME video. Enjoying these more and more than the Q&As. Some of the Q&As questions are so loooooooooooooong, people are writing you essays 😂🤣
Great video, bro!!! what a nice GMT with an amaizing fuchsia bezel!!
The red strap fits much much better, makes it even more of a eyecatcher
Love seeing all the cool new models I’ve never seen great video yet again 👍🏻
Great video love the vintage coverage. Thank you
Awesome Daytona. Really understatement piece. Like a modern 6263.
That Ali Bin Ali is pure water! Gorgeous dial
Good vid bro! I’m starting to look forward to your daily videos!
GMT is perfect! Sharp content Roman! Really appreciate...
Thanks Roman, always informative and enjoyable to watch. I watch a lot of KZread watch channels and I think yours is the most transparent of any of them. Is it true that if you have Rolex replace parts during service they don't send back the original parts?
Very good video, I'm really learning some cool stuff from you my man!
Man Roman thank you!!! I what say you got great info and videos... I decide to now what to get in to the watch Hustling now.. I have been thinking about this for a long time but now I want to start. Roman I have a lot of question?????? I'll keep watching your videos for advice..Thank YOU again
GMT 1675 MK0 Matte dial were made for a short period before the long E. Similar font to the gilt dials but matte with white printing.
What is my favorite thing about Roman's videos? I always learn something. Thank you!
Roman - I really enjoy your always-informative videos! One thing: It's either "BY the same token..." ---or--- "AT the same time..." --- But never "AT the same TOKEN"...Hope that helps...
Cheers great content... yeah the red strap looks really cool. Got to pull your leg about it though... last video you mentioned that you don’t like the strap to draw attention away from the watch.... All in good spirits.... as always its about balance and personal taste
That Sky Dweller is absolutely sick!!!!!!
I tried on a Yachtmaster with the oyster flex and it was really comfortable. Good video Roman, thanks👍🏼
That Ali bin Ali Offshore tourbillon is gorgeous!
Those papers for the GMT look pretty bright and crispy to be almost 55 yrs old imho.
Cool '68 reel there. Imagine buying one for retail back then.
Gmt is awesome love the way you are implementing the new with the old in your reviews keep it coming great video 👍 thanks

Agree - great seeing some vintage pieces
I like that old school GMT that fuchsia is different than what I always see
Love the old with the new, cheers Roman👍🏼
I always love when people bash Rolex and state that "they all look the same" and bring up AP. With the exception of colors/metals, APs all look the same to me. I do like that T3 Offshore, but at 47mm and those protectors on the pushers make it HUGE. Still kinda like it though. But the price is just ridiculous! Great info, Roman! Thanks.
$220 for an OEM AP rubber strap is absolutely insane. It's just rubber, it isn't any better than a $25 rubber strap.
Yay pink! 🎀🦩
Good stuff Roman, as usual. Would love to see some more L. U. Chopard whenever you get them in.
Thanks Roman for showing APs again😉 I’ll take that ABA AP over RM all day long
Great and very Interesting!!!
Love the sktdweller, actually I am looking for one.
best looking daytona ever (IMO 😳), AP looks great on red
Enjoyed that Roman 👍 I could get into vintage
Love the red strap on that AP! That's a beast, I'd totally be into it if I were a millionaire!
Yes white gold Daytona on a strap would look amazing
love the AP ROO rubberclad rosegold.
Love the skydweller
Great video as always !
Red strap pops nicely.
22:13 wow 👌
Thinking of flipping same Daytona and getting a freshly serviced rose/rubber Offshore same as one on here. Find the Daytona a little small and it’s bugging me. Had an AP Diver and liked the fit/ size. What do you think, yay or nay?
Love the red strap...!
best video in the past 3 months
Rolex gmt form 68 came with d link bracelets? My 69 DJ came on a oval jubilee. I’d check to see if it’s really all original...
I like the new format
What does it mean when the watch has papers and stickers? Does it mean it’s brand new do you have a video that explains The nickname of the watches like Batman Pepsi etc. And the terminology you guys use and also what makes a Watch more expensive than the other
Close ups are cool
The rose gold rubber clad was discontinued in 2013.
ROMAN! Love the channel! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop placing these beautiful timepieces crown down!
Hi Roman, great vlog as usual. With regards the rubber bezeled off shore. I guess if you can afford it, you're not going to be phased by replacement costs. But, those rubber pushers and bezel are screaming out for an inexpensive 3D printed replacement part. Shame this would likely cause the residual value of the watch to drop. Keep up the great content!

Don't mean these part need replaced on this particular watch. As you say, that example is in great condition. Just talking about a general solution.
good job
Wonder how the watch industry will look in December?
The date wheel look like it's been replaced. Should have a hook 7.
That AP with the red strap looks like a g-shock on your wrist. Just my opinion. Nice video btw.
Daytona looks amazing
I like the Ali Ben Ali 45 mm Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore. I am not a fan of vintage watches unless it uses to belong to a famous person.
Any Daytona experts/owners out there? Question. If you arent going to be around water, can you wear a Daytona with the pusher crowns unlocked? I tend to time things on the go. I always looked away from the Daytona because I would never ever unlock and actuate the chrono on the go. Any real world input would be appreciated.
Pepsi is trading now 30k + nowadays I have one now.. bought it for 22 or maybe less a little bit
Replacement bracelet on the GMT?
I like the new rolex. I will buy it when i get back.
Wouldn't it have a folded link jubilee originally - the D profile screwdriver adjustable is later I'm pretty sure.

1675 of course I'm referring too.
Due to J. Cole's "G.O.M.D" I can't help but read WOMD as "What's On My D***" in my head :D Love your channel and the format Roman!
Roman if you are going to do anything please start to warn people how dangerous EBay has become as a selling platform. After selling on EBay for 20 years I left after I understood that EBay was no longer protecting sellers. We need a better and safer way to sell watches.
I have a watch similar to that and some interested party would like to sell it, it is a rolex pink panther
53 years is 60 years
Damn you talk fast....But I guess you covered a lot of interesting information and watches! Very informative episode with some great pieces.
so early i can buy a submariner
Is that a crack or scuff marks over the 2?
This AP looks very smellier as hublot Big Bang
How come you don’t think of watches as investments and then you sell watches for a living? Seems like every watch you buy is an investment no?

He knows the market, has years of cliental to be able to buy sell and trade to, and the capitol to back it up. Plus the watches move fast and don't usually stay "on the desk" for too long. He's in it for the short game, most watch buyers buy watches for a long time and in there case it's almost like investing in a car.

Plz do not wear that t-shirt again, way too busy.
