One thing I like about JJ is she never looks down on anybody's job/career. To her there's "working" and "not working" and that's it. If someone says they were working at Lowe's or Subway or something like that she's just as OK with that as she is any other job.

She’s not against SAHM’s. She’s against not being married. She didn’t marry him but is expecting their break-up to be treated like a divorce. She can’t have her cake and eat it too. She can’t play house without the ring. So, legally, the situation is a lot different than if they’d been married.

I hate that we live in a culture that makes a work from home mom look as if she’s living in the lap of luxury and contributing nothing to the household. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, errands, and non-stop around the clock care deemed meaningless because no money is attached. Ridiculous! A stay at home mom is worth 150,000 a year in services with no sick days, she works on vacations if she’s lucky enough to get one, no time off, no bonuses, no applause for her cooking, and very little sleep. My mother says “Men retire and women die” - a woman’s work is never done - if she works outside the home, then someone else is in charge of her children for a fee and in most cases, she still has to do all the house work and meal preparations. Not thrilled with JJ line of questioning on this one. Can you tell? Lol

In New York (where they apparently live), the average cost of childcare is $14,000 per year. Let's even double that, since it saves the effort of transport to and from childcare, and other benefits as well. That's still just $30,000 a year. That's ~$15/hour. I greatly value and respect stay-at-home moms, but you are kidding yourself about the actual financial impact on the household. Her actual financial contribution would have been greater if she had worked at McDonalds.

I agree that stay at home moms don't get nearly enough credit. I don't know if there's a set dollar amount that could represent what a stay at home mom does though...I think it probably varies household to household because let's face it, not all parents are good parents. But yes...its a very difficult, stressful and thankless job. I agree with JJ that she's not entitled to her money back, but her line of questioning was definitely rough. Maybe even a bit biased as she can't stand people who don't work...especially if they collect disability and/or welfare. I agree with all her points on that topic every time she speaks on it. True...but the problem is: these young ones play house for ten years and don't get married!! A marriage certificate is a legal document that would easily help a judge split the assets. These young dumb kids don't get married but live together for 7 years and it causes a headache to the legal system because there is no contract like a marriage certificate when they split. I think Judy is more frustrated that these kids don't get married first and then move in together. They play house and then expect the Courts to sort out their mess when they split with no legal paperwork!

He said she cheated, she said she didn't.
Why should fake tears bother JJ. She has seen it all. She is an awesome lady who is fair and who teaches the law.
Omg he never grew out of not being able to pronounce the letter R. That's so cute
Does anyone else wonder why Judge Judy just randomly has, not one, but TWO fly-swatters at her bench?
Ladies, you have to have your name on these legal documents: deed, marriage license, etc. If you don't, when it's over, you have nothing.
My dude out here looking like an evil Brendan Fraser 😂
she left for another guy and didnt work out well, and now she has hit the wall
They can’t just answer the direct question
I honestly think Judge Judy mentioned the fly because she saw the plantiff crying. Class act.
It’s amazing. The moment her infidelity came up, she suddenly starts to cry and play victim.
It's ALWAYS someone who steps outside of the relationship and find out that the "grass wasn't greener" comes back waving the "engagement entitlement" and instead of working it out at home, and come back looking like a sad puppy and she 🤔 thinks that he really owes something 😂😂😂😂
Best TV judge.... judge Judy
how could she throw it all away??? and most of all ruin her childs life and well being over another man! wow
Fireplace was a Christmas gift, should be hers to take. And being a stay at home mother saves thousands of dollars. I’m not following Judge Judy’s logic.
"I got my own apartment. And by that I mean my grandma let me crash at her house with my woods colt."
They both just looked so sad 😔
