My amateur observations lead me to believe that officers more often than not do not want to pull up too far in front of a suspect's vehicle as to not make themselves vulnerable to possible gunfire from behind. Though I could be 100% wrong

At one point the driver, who appeared to be a woman, stopped in front of an El Sereno home and got out. She looked back, casually took something out of the van and dropped it off, then jumped back in the van and drove off when a patrol vehicle pulled up. Police later said it was a tray of chicken. The van nearly hit oncoming traffic several times. An hour into the chase, fans started popping up, waving down the driver in Alhambra and Lincoln Heights and receiving unidentified items from the van. After 11 a.m., the van’s driver stopped again and abandoned the vehicle, jumping into a white Mini Cooper. The chase ended soon after that, with the Mini Cooper’s driver and passengers - both women - first being taken into custody, before police arrested the van’s driver. As people walked up to the vehicle, the suspect at times stopped to take pictures, chat, and give handshakes and high-fives. 25-year-old Raquel Alvarez was arrested and charged with grand theft auto, felony evading, and hit and run. The names of the two other two women were not released.

Their job is not to allow any dead air at all. That has to involve some speculation as well as repetitiveness. Viewers tend to switch channels when there is head air no matter how interesting the chase. So.... they are just trying to earn a living by doing what they were hired to do. Cut them some slack.

It was named after Cesar Estrada Chavez Navy Veteran who led a labor movement and a strike against picking grapes in the 60s and 70s. @@donmoore7785 That is the dumbest response! The point to not getting anyone hurt is to end it before any POTENTIAL problems could occur. They failed in that department! You end is fast to ensure the guarantee of no one getting injured and they had ample opportunities. Don Moore probably works for the their department.

American law enforce needs more training as to how they go about stopping law breakers,rather than driving around in circles endangering z public

They weren't paying attention. There was both a white car with and WITHOUT a sunroof following the pursuit. The white car without the sunroof came to a stop along with the chase. The occupants got out and were going to get involved until the other cars driver got put into cuffs. Three in total were arrested.

They aren’t gonna prosecute them so what’s the point. They are letting child molesters and murderers out of prison 🙄

@@jgunther22 All they have to say is they were on their way to a BLM protest and they'll be set free. I'm being sarcastic of course but the sarcasm comes from the fact that they have been letting criminals go free and refusing to prosecute them if they're protesters.

I'm convinced these car thefts like this, are for no more reason than to get attention. The drivers have no place to go specifically; do what ever they can to get attention even if it means harming someone else. The deeper they have to go for that attention; they think is good. And to anyone fist shaking and helping; you need to go to court, jail/prison just the same as if you were in on the whole thing. Citizens can't encourage other people to put cops lives in danger and the general public. Prison is where they belong; for good. They are a danger to society with intent. Yes, With intent.

I agree. At one point the driver had an opportunity to hop out of the vehicle and run but instead decided to continue driving in which I suspected the driver was getting some type of thrill off the chase. These people are just idiots and the people who cheer them on are morally broken

Anyone willing to take time out of their busy lives to put cop's lives in danger, has my full support.

If they were smart organized criminals, they could get away by driving into a tunnel or somewhere temporarily out of view of the helicopter, and have an 'accomplice' (a.k.a. paid drug addict from Skid Row) in an identical white (stolen) mini cooper drive away back into view, while the woman from the van get away clean in another waiting vehicle.

LMAO . again . Right below your comment it clearly said : Translate to English . They say ppl getting involved get arrested but i saw one chase where a truck blocked the vehicle in and the police were grateful and thanked the truck driver. But the new anchor guy was very annoying, he just wanted to get in to the action, he loved the sound of his own voice, he was as bad as the ppl helping the driver, also one said one thing then the other repeated it.
