Well the goal is to capture them without any casualties, do you really expect the police to just tail them directly for all of these type of situation when it could risk these guys irrationally driving and crashing into a person or another car. If the police can block routes by predicting where they might go, it leaves little chance for them to panic and cause an accident. If the police chased directly behind them, who knows if they are going to stomps the pedal and go 70mph down the road. If you noticed, they said, there are no ground units directly behind them, but IN THE AREA. The police are likely trying to find a prime opportunity to corner the car when it’s in an area that can easily drive away from, that way, once the police show up, they can be sure to catch these dudes without much risk of them hurting other. Remember, the police have to keep the safety of the people, keeping random bystanders safe is more of a priority then catching in this case. Theses guys are in a car driving recklessly, if they are in panic while a police car tails them, who know if they would go so far as to drive on the sidewalk to evade the police and risk hitting someone. I also notice you mention like Arizona sin some of your other comments, then you have not really considered the LA landscape, LA is a shithole, old city, horrible tight infrastructure, while you can use grapplers, it’s important to consider WHERE as if used in a wrong area, who know if the car could shift and hit another Dense urban street, highway, suburban, rural, determine where the criminals may be headed. Use the tools for dealing with them accordingly

California law enforcement has to be one of the worst in the United States letting half the car chases get away I will stand by Arkansas State police any day they pit you at any speed even if your doing over 100 mph. Was born and raised in California never going back that for sure.

It's the agency administration that is the problem. The biggest thing the administration cares about is liability. If you pull your units back and the suspect hurts someone then the agency can say they got out of sight of the suspect so they can't be held liable for what the suspect does after that. Many times criminals get away for this very reason. Civil court decisions have also hampered police responses to "non-violent" situations like these.

I know California been sue a lot so they take the easy way out but not throw out spike strips and let the criminals drive by them after they have stop is discussing. I have seen a lot of chases in California like the guy who went behind 2 businesses and the parking lot deadened and he stop for a minute and back all the way out of the parking lot pass 7 cop cars and the last 2 cops couldn’t throw out a spike strip to me it like cops lack common sense.@@crazyv13

At least the pedestrians and innocent bystanders were left unscathed in the people with the stolen car got it back in mostly one piece unlike how they like to do the pit maneuver and destroy the stolen property they were chasing that never did make sense plus it's always better to follow them to their lair.

💯%! I'm betting it was that very FIRST 🚪 they ran in. The 3rd (last) dude running almost plowed into the other two trying to get in the door....IS MY GUESS... ... because I saw him halt so suddenly when they quickly turned in there .... (from the 🚁 glimpse I saw)

18:10 you can see they went in the first apartment because the tree moved trying to open the door. And the last suspect stop running once he hit the corner and is headed to the first door.

The tree actually moved a couple more times but I was curious that those back to Windows were completely open and I felt like they could run along the wall out of the helicopters reach or jump across the wall and hide in that storage container LOL I was really wishing they would have watched that cat to see if it noticed people going past the window for a little bit longer. I always pay attention to what the animals are watching

Dude, the tree was moving before that. Look at the tree in the front. Its also moving. The went into middle door. As they approach the first door, they still ran the same speed as they were. Criminals aren't smart. If they slowed down, they're ready to get into the door. But running the same speed, they haven't reached their point yet. If they're smart, the would've ran along the wall and head to the other street. Unless LAPD helicopter spotted them. Anyways all 3 was caught at 830pm.

Born and Raised Southern California and as a kid being out on my bicycle and not making it home before the streetlights came on was what we worried about..

Too bad this wasn't in arizona, the police would have stopped that vehicle with there grappler.

Just think how much faster they could run if their pants were up tight

I don’t feel they are hiding in pink building but the other one that’s cream color, sunroofs, concrete fence….. the cat in pink building watched them jump over fence or whatever they did…. May be in that small storage unit next to fence

I thought so as well I was trying not to get frustrated when I was watching to see if the door was fidgeted with because they kept moving it look like the bicycles had gotten knocked over and I was also trying to watch the cat to see which way it was looking it didn't act like they had passed by that cat in the window and then you've got that crawl space right under that open window with the curtain partly open. I wondered if that was a camera in the middle of the roofline watching that alley. But all they had to do was stick close to the wall and they probably could have evaded them especially if they were watching them do this live they could see what they saw easily. It looks briefly like a shadow moved just past the cat. But yeah I wish I was holding the camera for them haha

I moved to LA in 2015 and regret coming and can’t afford to move out of California to expensive cheaper for me to get a uhaul in Texas and drive back in forth California is taxing everyone min wage went to 20 a hour for any fast food places but now what is gona go up 12 pack of dog food cans went up 7 dollars from month to the next it’s crazy now rent is going up cuz wages are going up but the people on disability don’t get a increase everything here is sad
