Woman Flees Hit And Run Crash Then Tries Playing Dumb

#cops #police #arrest
On September 27th, 2023. An officer was an eye witness to a hit and run crash which involved a woman in a blue truck speeding off from the scene. The woman parked her car a random apartment complex and then started walking away from the car, she left her drivers license and wallet behind in the car. When officers approached her, she pretended like she just wasn’t involved in a crash, she was acting completely clueless. This is the body-cam footage of the events that followed.

It's like people don't even understand words like "detained" or "under arrest." And how they want to ask questions or make noise thinking if they don't hear their rights read they have a "gotcha" or something. I always want to shout, "They are literally your RIGHTS! You might want to listen to them!"

It must be extra tough for them with the amount of abuse every cop gets from people on an average day. Something like a speech impediment would just give them an extra target.

Because they couldn't prove she didn't drink after she left the scene. This is a tactic you can do to try and avoid a dui charge as leaving the scene is much less trouble than a DUI charge. You miles may vary and you could pick up a leaving the scene charge and a DUI and possibly a felony as in a lot of states if you injure someone and leave the scene it becomes a felony charge. If you are going to try this tactic it's best on a single vehicle accident.

Yeah man; they are definitely much nicer to female Hispanics. I’ve seen it multiple times in my life. Like my xwife; they just let her do whatever she wants without issues. A man would have been tackled walking away; along with many charges. DUI, fleeing and eluding, no insurance, not complying with police, which could be multiple different charges. The car would have been impounded on investigation of hit and run, I’m sure there’s a few others I don’t know about, that could have been smashed on her file. They really are very nice to females.

DUI is incredibly hard to get actually convicted for if they manage to get home, any even D-tier lawyer is going to argue she chugged 15 shots as soon as she closed the door. criminal convictions are at a "beyond a reasonable doubt" standard. Best they could 100% dunk her on was leaving the scene and an open container while driving. Cops/prosecutors usually pick 100% chance conviction things cause (well prosecutors at least) don't want to mess up their sterling 90%+ conviction rates so they can run on them every election. TBH it'd be a lot better if that number wasn't legal to share and wasn't tracked cause then prosecutors could go for pretty obvious but maybe 60% cases like this, and then they WOULDN'T do all the really blatant corrupt stuff to save convictions they get wrong like we see happen a lot (people exonerated by dna and the prosecutor still smears them as a murderer and tries to retry on circumstancial evidence despite dna pointing to another person)

They couldn't prove or it would be difficult to prove she didn't drink after she left the scene. This is a huge gamble as in a lot of states if you injure someone and leave the scene it becomes a felony.
