@tring, I thought about this the other day and just heard you mention it how you had viewers at your window. Before KZread, or the internet how would you get to see these awesome craftsman skills, whether shoe/boot repair, watch repairs, car repairs, welding, black smith? You’d go to their shop window and watch them and their skills(I’d don’t suggest anyone going to a welders window and watch him do his thing) . It’s pretty crazy how now, hundreds of thousands of people can now watch skill at work anywhere in the world in amazing quality. Just a funny thought.

I love watching you bring things back to life. My father was a cabinet maker, and I have always enjoyed refinishing furniture to give to family members. Have you thought about signing and dating under the replacement soles? Might be a way to keep your legacy alive years down the road. If ever replaced again your name and date would be seen. Also my father was so particular with his cabinet builds he always turned the screws the same direction when tightening them. just an added touch. Even now when I restore an item, furniture, jukebox, pinball machine, I always sign and date it somewhere to be found maybe years from now. Keep the videos coming. You do amazing restorations! My father was a Watchmaker to trade, you'll see I'm a Musical Instrument Technician, proper skilled, old fashioned, trades. Unfortunately watchmaking, and Musical Instruments don't pay well... I became a specialist hospital engineer, my father was a beat Bobby... One of his best friends (perhaps of neccesity, I've a feeling Bobbies in those days got a boot allowance, but had to buy their own) was an old fashioned cobbler, I remember seeing all those machines in the back shop! Good job.

Dan. I’m a new subscriber. Love watching your videos. So nice to watch a true craftsman at work. I’m a Brit living in the USA so is difficult to come in to get my shoes repaired but am planning on traveling over once things calm down whenever that is. Would it be possible to bring in my shoes for resoling and u to do it while I wait and maybe watch u do it? I’d obviously contact you ahead of time to arrange it. Mail order wouldn’t be worth it as overall cost would be more then buying new shoes but I would love to have my shoes customized by someone with your skill level. Keep up the fantastic work. Love watching you do your thing. Very relaxing and educational.

Love your work as always. Quick thought from a woodworker…if you’re putting wooden pegs in a new sole that you don’t want to have to sand, you may be able to carefully trim off the ends of the wooden pegs with a super sharp chisel without messing up the leather. Maybe not, because I don’t know anything about cobbling, but something to think about. Keep up the great work and videos.
